Has anyone had any parts on their Buell or any other vehicle done in black chrome powdercoat or similar?
Im looking for something different to powdercoat my wheels and other parts.

I have never thought of that but that would look sweet

Onelogue I have seen them on socket sets
it looks like it sounds it black with a chrome finish

Seen it and a guy I work with has his BMW wheels, I tried to get a buddy to do up his 4x4 but he wanted to go old school and just stick with regular chrome.

Here is a little better pic of a Porche wheel

Search "black chrome" using Google and click on images at top of search page. Also if you search
"powder buy the pound" and go on their website, look in powder by color and click black.

It doesnt add weight, the parts are stripped bare and then it is just a two part powdercoat process. Just the same as painting.

BLACK CHROME II ~ THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE APPLIED OVER A CHROME BASECOAT.

Looks like you need a chrome basecoat.. or would polished aluminum work too? I'm guessing you just need a shiny basecoat and the black chrome is like a dark tinted clear..

Still cool

Black chrome frame would be sweet maybe one day when I am rich and take the engine out to slap a revolution performance kit on I'll do that too

Duplicolor has a new paint called Metalcast, which is meant to be painted over chrome. They have a "smoke" color which is what you're looking for I think.

Do it Dave........... Polish your frame and spray it.

Bet it would turn out great;)

Not my cup on the bikes but definitely looks sick on larger wheels and car/truck apps.

I'm sorry, forgive me or flame me if you must, but a duplicolor 6-pack project in yer garage is NOT gonna look like that Porsche wheel. I ain't judging, I'm just sayin'. Sorry if I offend. You can't do everything professionally in your own garage. DIY is fine for some things, but for other things you're best off just paying up and getting it done right. At least then you have someone you can bitch at if it doesn't come out like you envisioned. Not trying to inflame, just speaking from stone cold hard everyday reality.

I think we all know the spray can Dupli-color wouldnt be able to turn out as good as a professional powder coating job.

Oh and my last comment to Dave was a joke, if that was over looked.
