Was on my way home from work last night and was almost home when I started feeling "off". I knew SOMETHING wasn't right, but wasn't sure what. Was feeling a slight wobble, but since it was windy and cold (making me tense up a bit), I didnt think too much of it. That is, not until I was about 30 feet from my driveway.....
I let off the clutch and was reaching for the brakes and it was really wobbling. Gripped the clutch and let it roll out and into my drive. Since it was too dark too see anything, I waited til this morning to find what was wrong....my rear wheel bearings on the right side were fkd and the nut/washers were missing from the bike. I'm assuming they vibrated loose when the bearings crapped out.
Parts are gonna cost me $41.14 from the local shop. So....anyone got any advice on replacing the bearings? Is it complicated or a simple job? I've been reading the service manual, and it SEEMS fairly easy, I've just never had to replace them before.
I'm just damned lucky it didnt happen 20 mins earlier....was doin 65 down the mountain....if the shaft had slid out then......damn....
