Driving home from work on my BLAST .. there seemed to be an enormous loss of power, especially at take-off. Approaching my house, I realized I wasn't using 1st gear .. blonde moment haha

What's yours??

Drove from dallas to houston ( 4 hr. Drive ) in my car and the whole way couldn't figure why the rpms were so high , i never shifted into 5th. DUH!!

I leave redlights in 2nd gear on occasion. Forget to downshift all the way and don't realize it until the engine starts to sputter. It definitely has enough torque to pull away, just not when I don't know I'm doing it.

Sometimes in town I'll leave lights in 2nd intentionally just to keep from having to shift half way through the intersection when I hit 20mph.

i've started in 2nd numerous times. or once in a while i will be real confused as to why my 4 wheeler wont start, and it will be out of gas lol.

one time on my bike i damn near forgot to put my feet down at a stop lol. that was only once though.

I replaced a battery on the bike once because i left the kill switch on. I never turn the bike off through the kill switch. only done that once, I do have a spare battery know.

on the way home from picking up the bike i pulled in the driveway and my brother said "i was following you the whole way and you left your blinker on for the better part of the trip" just a bruised ego lol

Crashed my bike But it will be better than ever come spring

Better not let Buellchick ride your bike then :D

One time... at band camp.... wait no, it was at Laguna Seca... I left my bacon warmers on. Dead bike :( We jumped it by taking a battery out of another bolt. It was genius. Thanks Spymac!

What happened with the kill switch on that you tought you had to replace your battery? I leave my kill switch on all the time.

Leaving a kill switch on will kill a battery [confused]. Also been doing that for years and never had a problem with a battery dying because of it.

Now for my blonde moment. I was in a hurry because I was late for class and accidentally left my bike in the park position. This was on my old yamaha where the tumblers were in bad shape so unless you paid attention it would drop into park.

i drove through a bike night parking lot all proud of having the badest bike there and looking at the people pointing at my exhaust. stoped to exit and a guy ran up and told me my kickstands down.

yeah... the kickstand is my downfall too... the 1125s dont kill over like the XBs do when you drive with the kickstand down.

We all have nicknames in the group I ride with. I am kickstand for the reason stated above, my buddy Eric is turn signal because he has issues turning his off, and my other buddy Josh is Kill Switch.

we got pulled over one night because the cop thought we were stunting when Josh stood up to adjust his junk. the cop ended up letting us go, but Josh couldnt start his bike. The cop got on his mic and said "KILLSWITCH" the name has stuck since. In his defense he has a brand new CBR100RR and his bike actually turns over (doesnt start, just sounds like its going to.) when the kill switch is flipped on.

no, leaving the kill switch on doesnt kill your battery, leaving the key turned on when you forgot that you used the switch does...I have done it before out at the track. I get in from a session and coast to my pit in Neutral and just use the kill switch. During the day it is hard to tell that the headlights are on, especially with tape over them.

Last bike week, I parked the bike, walked around for about an hour, came back...the lights were still on. I left the key in the ignition.

How about forgetting that you have the disc lock on before trying to look cool on your take-off....Anything but cool! LOL At least it was on the rear disc and I could try to make it look like I meant to stop...NOT

i was getting off of a off ramp and thought the bike was in neutral and had 1 hand on the bars and was sitting up straight and reved it up quick to listen to the beautiful D&D and it was in first it about bucked me off like a horse

My wife was nice enough to remind me of this. A few years ago i pull the bike into work at 5 am to unlock the gate , i put the bike in neutral and promptly get off of it. OOPS! Forgot to put the kickstand down. You don't realize how heavy a Buell is until it's laying on the back of you legs. After i finally got out from under it i found it had only broke the peg. The kicker was later on when i get called into the office to find my boss and coworkers watching ( laughing there ass' off) the security tapes. Blonde moment indeed !

I drove off with the kickstand down a few times. one time I didnt put it into neutral before I parked it. I get back to the bike, put my gear on, turn the key, press the starter and almost lost her.

one time, right after my girl gets back, im used to riding alone. I accelerate hard off a stop light with her riding pillion, start rounding a corner, shift in to 2nd, and gave her a bit too much, and proceed to wheelie around the corner with my girl clinging for dear life to my back.

All turned out well tho, lessons in experience.
