BadDad, that looks really close to what I was thinking of! Is that the "Troy Lee Designs Leather Speed Jacket"? How much you get it for? It looks like it is going for around $200. I would definitely appreciate that review once you get to try it out. Thanks for all your help guys. I'm still up in the air, but feel much more educated.

I've got Harley's Switchback Jacket. the main portion of the body zips off and it's mesh underneath. If your at a stop light it's a little warm, but when you moving you barely notice it.

Yea, Bordsnbikes I have one also, great jacket but the second you stop moving its A oven. What surprised me was that sucker is the best rain jacket I have.

I wear one of these under a T-Shirt when im just jetting around town for an errand and its pretty hot. Not quite as protective but much cooler.

You do not want to go down even at a slow speed of 30mph with just a vest and a tee shirt.

Armor is great but you need not only impact protection but something to stop the pavement from sanding all your skin off.

At 30mph asfault is will eat your skin. And the areas that normally get eaten are usually around your joints like shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles and then of course the hands. Those vest don't protect any of that. Vest are great protection againest a hard hit but most wrecks don't have hard hits just long slides...

Hey guys, sorry to bring back an old thread, but I STILL can't find a mesh jacket that i like. After way too much shopping around I bought one online bc i was sick of searching and I hate it. So much that I am going to buy another one. It works well as far a breathing, but it is so uncomfortable. I got a small and its huge. It has the adjusting straps, but I have to sinch them down fo far that they go past the velcro and bunch. There is way too much material in the elbow sections too. I like all black jackets, and need one that is cut pretty thin I guess. Any more suggestions?

This is what I wear for downhill mountain bike races. It's light, breaths, and takes serious hits in stride.

You could just wear a jersey or something over it. I often wear my light jacket if it's really hot, otherwise I wear my Icon TiMax mesh jacket.

Man oh man, that looks like something the military should be wearing when they're tearing scalps off of 'pail faces'.

Oh wait, I'm talking about Native Americans. Nevermind.

I use the power trip army vest, and live here in Orlando and it gets hot as hell here it has good spine protection, shoulder protection, and chest protection too. Ive lived here in the heat for the last 3 years and I either wear this one or the Icon back peace but the power trip army vest is way more padded and protective. Plus the price is reasonable too. Hope this helps

I've bailed flat on my back from going over the bars onto a rock garden on a double black diamond run doing about 40 and other than a little sore the next day, I was good to go. The Rock Gardn (no e in garden) gear is solid. I wear it off road on my YZ, too.
