ok so im not sure if the mods can move this to the for sale section for me or not, but i guess this is going to turn into a for sale thread. i had someone ask about the ecm and i will get back to you asap, and someone sent me a pm about some parts and i tried to get back to you but havent heard back from you.
and just so everyone knows i am new at shipping so pricing may take me some time, but i will do the best i can. emails would be best [email protected] thanks, justin.

I hope you got a bill of sale of some sort, or at least made some record of the transaction, even if it was on a napkin.

If you didn't, the bike in your hands could be considered as good as stolen.

+1 on the bonded title, it may cost a few hundred but they will do the research for you and if its not stolen they will issue you a brand new title.

yea i spent about 4 hours on the phone this morning talking to the dmv and the police in my area.. the license dmv sent me to the tag dmv, they sent me to some inspector at the first dmv that could not care less to help, so i call the local pd and she said i would have to check with the dmv... so i got someone checking for me that works for the government and will she if she can find the guy that it was last registered to.
could anyone explain why the pd couldnt find out if something with a vin # is stolen or not? that blew my mind that no one could look it up

i know this is old now and im sure no one remembers but it means something to me so i figured i would let everyone know what happened. i ended up posting the bike for sale and found a guy that wanted to fix it up and he knew people in the navy so he thought he could track down who its titled to(navy base sticker on forks). so we worked out a price and i was able to keep some of the parts i had sold or was talking to someone about buying. he let me know today that the bike was not stolen and was getting the title. it had worried me a lot after making this thread and was very glad to hear it wasnt stolen. i am getting pics of what i still have and will be posting them soon in the for sale section as soon as i can. so just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the help
