Hey everyone, if you haven't seen my other threads, I recently bought a 2005 XB9R, completely bone stock. I absolutely LOVE the bike, I can't wait for summer so I can ride it pretty much every day! (North-West Ohio)

My question is regarding the brake light. I have a feeling something is wrong, because my brake light only lights up when I use the rear brake petal. When pressing the front brake only it doesn't light up, that's not normal is it? I assume the brake light should light up no matter which brake I use (I use both while ridding) so it's not really an issue, just the one thing I have noticed on the bike that seems out of place. What could be causing this?

Thanks!

I've had to replace my front brake switch to. The guy at the dealership said that switch is pretty common to fault. Good news is, its not that much and only takes a couple of minutes to replace.

That's kind of what I was thinking, thanks everyone! Looks like I'll be ordering a brake switch over the holiday.

Thanks again,
-Matt

+1 for ASB I have spent a ton of money on their sight and the only issues I have ever had were my own damn fault!

OP what part of Ohio? I am from Brunswick

jakestolar - I'm in Toledo / Maumee area. I actually just bought my bike over in your neck of the woods.

Just ordered the switch and a couple miscellaneous items from ASB. Shipping was a bit pricey, but I think that's everywhere.

Thanks for the help!

Did you check to make sure it was completely plugged in before you ordered? Mine falls off from time to time.

make sure switch plugged up ive overlooked this detail several times thru the years

I double checked to make sure the plug wasn't simply loose, or un-plugged before ordering. It's only a $13 part, so i'm not really worried about it. Thanks for all the help, hope this takes care of it.

Thanks,
Matt

Anythn good??

Nothin special, just an extra oil filter (Already have one waiting to go one), and a few oil drain plug washer just in case. I have to go buy the oil this week, and will be getting ready to winterize the bike.
