Anybody try these tires on a xb12? Had the Pirelli angels and wore real bad in the middle and the steel bands showing half way around the tire.. I'm no slacker in the corners always trying to lean as far as possible .. I got like 6k out of them just really wanna know if the Bridgestones are worth the extra 100$ thanks friends

Extra $100??? I love these tires best all around and great handling. My experience is the pirellis are more expensive.

Tire selection is legitimately a pretty personal thing & it's tough to make informed decisions based on forum feedback. I find magazines are a pretty good source of unbiased & qualified information. The reviews I've read speak favourably about the BT016s; you might want to read for yourself.

All of the major tire manufacturers offer excellent traction these days & it's my experience that pure sport tires are overkill for street riding. As you point out, even aggressive riders usually find they square-off too quickly. It's for that reason I've become an advocate of sport-touring tires for street use. I'm running BT023s on both my XB & my wife's ZX6r, & I'm very pleased with the balance of mileage & grip they offer in both applications. :D

Also have the 23s on my TT, haven't had them long enough to know mileage but got 12,000 out of the 21s on a SV650.

Yes I have been reading reviews and haven't heard anything bad but I want to ask people with same bike seeing as the reviews are always with a Honda cbr or a Yamaha r6 or r1 and yes my local cycle shop is a Pirelli dealer so the angels are a hundred bucks cheaper.. the bt016 are 305$ is this price high they would have them Friday too seemed quick .. the ct2 are only 220$ but I didn't like what I read about there side walls but they stock them too

I run them, been to the track with them and have about 5k in them now and they are just barely showing a flat spot. I like them alot for their price.

You guys complaining about them not lasting long with 2 seasons and such need to realize it is very normal for a motorcycle tire that isnt touring to only get around 3200-5,000 miles out of themselves.

Also I had the 2cts on my bike and I did not like them at all, quickly wears flat and does not give you the feeling you are planted in corners, if it was slightly wet the bike would step out on me. Not a feeling you want leaned over. The 016's havent slipped up once (besides my breaking in on the track).

[up]Shit, I run sport touring tires & I'd be fucking delighted to get 2 seasons out of them. I'm lucky if I get one!

I just dropped my wheels off at Cycle Gear to have them install the BT16's. I'm hoping to have them installed by tonight.

I got 1600 miles out of a set on my supermoto,
SuMos are in another whole realm for chewing-up tires; especially if they are being ridden 'properly'. I usually go through at least 2 rear tires per season on mine!

I have these exact tires on my 12R and I LOVE them. They have amazing turn-in compared to my old scorpion sync's, and the grip is amazing in the canyons. I rode them through the canyon after a rain the other day and could not believe how much grip they had on the damp (not flooded out or anything, just damp to the touch) roads once they heated up a bit. No complaints at all on mine, i picked em up off an ebay store for 220 shipped last year.

220 that's how much my angels were but I wanted to upgrade or at least try something new to get a feel for different tires but I am really happy with the feed back guys and girls so thank you all very much will be shopping around my local cycle shops to see if I can get a better deal then what coleman power sports has to offer... yes if you are local that's the woodbridge, Va location. If any of you happen to be a Virginia resident and know of a brigdestone dealer please hit me with the contact info so I can get my sweet girlie girl back on the road.

I have BTO-16's on the XB and cant complain. You guys complaining about mileage should try racing to put things in perspective. I run a set of slicks for two 6 lap races [confused].

By the way I was not complaining about the tires I said they are good. everybody knows bike tires don't last long unless you use sport-touring tires some last longer.
