Changed just the low beam side to a silver star H7 and i can say its quite an improvement. Changed just one so i could see the difference a better bulb would make. The sylvania bulb on the low beam side are lighting the sides of the road more and shine farther out front than the stock hi-beam.

Yessir, I changed both high and low to Silverstar Ultra's and the extra light throw is noticable.

I haven't made the swap on the XB, but I did on my BMW GS, and it was a huge improvement.

I looked at the HID options and thought of what the service manager would tell me if by some slim chance their was a electrical issue with my bike. So for the majorty of the warranty period i think the silver stars are my best option.

HIDs look Great, but IMO, unless you do a lot of night riding - spend money elsewhere or just do it for looks.

For the cost of Silverstars ($35-40 for 2) you can get the HIDs for about the same price.

DDM HID's

I have an HID in my CR's low beam. It is great and there have not been any electrical issues. I may go with the Silverstar in the high beam just because it is the same color light of the HID but doesnt have the warmup time the HID does.

03- That's a HID? 4300k? It's got a lot of yellow to it for anything higher.

Yeah, its a 6000k 35w. It may look a little yellow as I didnt let it warm up really bright before I took that pic. And pics just dont do HID's justice.

I think I am going to do silverstars... with the warm up time pass to flash and having to possibly do a timer to not prematurely wear out the bulb I think I will just go the easy way

Silverstars are great for regular bulbs. They have a newer version of them that are supposedly brighter, but I have yet to see them.
