So I rode down to ocean city this weekend for a mini vacation...started to head home about 2 hrs ago and as I pull up to a redlight my clutch lever looses all its tension, I manage to get my bike to the side of the road before it stalls, get off to look and the cable actually snapped in two with me three hrs from home...pissed me all kinds of off

I had this same exact thing happen to me a couple weeks ago :( Luckily I was close to home and limped it back in first gear on the side streets. Easy fix but being stranded would not be..Sorry Man!

u can shift without clutch. up and down. roll it n stab it had to do it myself before, aint that bad

^^^ not that good for your gears though. I'm pretty good at up-shifting clutchless. Takes practice syncing the gears but pretty easy. I've heard it's possible down-shifting, never been able to do it myself.. Definitely do not just jam it into the next gear. Easiest is prob. from 2nd to 3rd. Get real high in the Rpm's then just apply light pressure on the shifter and as it winds down it'll just slide into gear.

i thought about it, but being 180 miles from home i figured i would also be replacing the internals...it all worked out i had a friend with a 3500 dodge that we stuck it in

quick question tho...it wouldnt have had anything to do with me changing my handlebars out to crossroads would it?

shouldnt make any diff.unless it stretched cable in awkward position, but im not familar with those. try clutchless sometime gears are more durable than u think but with a little practice it is amazingly slick.....mostly just for cruising back roads with harley guys ,i still use a little clutch when pace steps up. BUT its fun to ride with new guys and they notice im not clutching till i have to rite before i stop.
