buell 2007 xb12ss problem

Ok so i bought my buell 2007 xb12ss last summer but didnt ride it.. the bike had a jardine muffler but i put back the original one, the problem is when i drive slowly no prob but as soon as i put a bit a gas my engine light come up, and when i leave the gas the light goes off.. i notice also that my header wich were strap by the previous owner, are getting really really hot..
any idea what could be the possible problem?

have you connected the muffler valve actuating cable to the original muffler? yhis might be the reason for check light.
and it's ok for headers to become really hot.

Headers get hot.. its just the way it works.
