Anyone is going to see solar eclipse on August 21?

LOTS of people are going to see the eclipse. :black_eyed: The population of Oregon will pretty much double during the next week. My house is in a region of 99+% totality. But my family and I are crazy enough to venture south to see a minor league baseball game that is taking place in the path of totality...they are going to pause the game during the couple of minutes of complete darkness for everyone to enjoy. And, even if it's cloudy (which Oregon is known to be on occasion), we'll still get to have fun watching the game. :up:

I am also in the path of 99+% totality and will be watching from my porch. We have a decent eastward view and my appliance shop isn't opening until noon on Monday. I have a couple friends that will be at that game as well, very cool that the decision was made to stop the game during the peak. I doubt it will be cloudy anywhere but on the beach, and even they might get a decent view. I hope the roads don't get crazy but I figure that is inevitable with the influx of people that are in the area. I hope everyone stays safe and no one burns down anything, with all the camping and outdoor activities it really concerns me. Price of fuel has gone up 30 or more cents as well, and my dam bike is in the shop!

Well, fortunately the apocalyptic traffic predicted for the eclipse never seemed to materialize. My family and I had a great time at the ball game. The weather was perfect, my 9 year old son was interviewed by the local TV news station, and the eclipse itself was truly awesome. If you ever get a chance to see a total solar eclipse, I highly recommend it. It is definitely up there with the most amazing natural wonders I've ever seen. :up:
