buell factory right side scoop

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

aw, come on they don't look that bad do they? i like my $40.00 crappy scoop. HAHA:D

It's definitely worth the $40, maybe even $100. I think in this case, its a "function over fashion" situation which is what Buell is all about.

i must say that Lefox has the better scoop, due to the soul fact that it is a symmetrical scoop. but anyone has to ask themselves "Is the price worth it?" for me this scoop will do just fine till i get out of college and can pay 300 dollars for a upgraded scoop.

wow...did i just raise the price??? [smirk]
not to scare anyone, but it's not that bad...

& joel9, didn't mean anything bad by it, glad you guys found a cheap solution to your problem. ;)

as i said, i have no take on the product, so if i could make it cheaper and keep the quality, i would...

Joel,

Do you have a part number for the under tail piece?

Thanks for the heads up on the good deal!

Ordered mine today through chi-town harley. Lefox has a better, far more symetric scoop but he wants $250(check form under xb12r about air scoop). I rather keep the 210 bucks! :)

I got the whole comfort kit a week ago, and I have ridden with it in the heat (eastern washington). I would buy the entire rider comfort kit. The piece that goes under the seat and around the rear shock does a great job of deflecting the heat. Istead of baking you, it is pushed out lower and fins direct the heat out to the sides.

Bottom line, I'm happy with my purchase and I think the piece under the seat makes a big difference.

i see from some of your earlier posts wbedient that you ride a uly. i not sure if the underseat part will fit an xbs/r or not. i think the uly rear section is different than on short frame modles. thats why i just got the scoop parts and they work great.[up]

Lefox wasn't trying to cause a problem but to have it shipped from Europe and the currency conversion, that was just a rough estimate.

Finally got mine in from Chicago HD today! They even through in 2 extra bolts!:p

Easy install other than a few threads getting boogered up...[smirk]

Remember...Function over fashion (I guess). Definitely not as clean looking as the left but I'll have a chance to try it out on a long ride this weekend[up]...I'll let you know how it does.

Thanks Joel for the great info!!![up]

no offense taken ;)

yea, i know...but it's the best we can do while maintaining quality we want.

also, it would be cheaper of most of the forum visitors here do a joint buy, cuts down on shipping prices [smirk]

Got mine put on today. They still charged me 60$ for the thing even though I said the price was too high..

Well it works.. Fan did not run after shutting bike down after some good riding.

Well worth it.

Tried to get the fan to come on tonight with some hard runs and about an hour riding around and the damn thing doesn't come on any more!!! [up][up][up]

Put 260 miles on the clock today!!! Not once did I feel the "hot hamstring" condition!!![up][up]

It also seemed like the fan ran less often than before so in my opinion, $40 well spent!!:D

finally went for a good ride after putting mine on. whenever we stopped my buddies lightnings fan would go on and mine was all quiet.[up]

from all the pics looks like I'm gonna be modifying it when I get it to fit the Mircon Exhaust

sorry, $26.00 for the scoop. $12.00 for inner scoop. $5.00 for screws. $43.00. ordered from the harley /buell dealer.

Which dealership did you get these from for that price? Up here in Vancouver, BC they want $90 for the same thing! I can feel a road trip to Washington State coming on!

the screws are 10-32 x 1/2" long. Available at fine hardware stores near you. EZPZ.
