Hey guys and gals, I've been lurking for a week or two since I bought my first Buell, an xb12s. It's an 04 with 35k on it, from Florida so I suppose it was primary year-round transportation. I got it from a dealer through an ebay listing and it's had ready-to-ride dealer service. It's got the discontinued racing exhaust and some smaller aftermarket upgrades that I can tell. I thought it was a good deal for $3,500. I had it shipped and it should be here in a week or two.

I thought I'd add that I'm an Industrial Designer and special effects artist (animatronics, props, sets, prosthetic makeup, etc.). I own a custom modelmaking/prototyping shop in western New York state. I think the first customizing will be a trim undertail/plate bracket.

Wanted to introduce myself and say that there seem to be some cool helpful people here and a great forum climate without all the flaming/arguing so I'm excited to be an active member.

That's what drew me here as well. Welcome to the Forum and the "Family" Tech. :D[up] Congrats on the bike and ride safe.

Thanks for the welcome!

the bike is black, I really wanted racing red so I don't know if anyone wants to trade their red for black...also the front wheel has tiny spots on the bead where the gold is off? I dunno if it was an aggressive tire machine or what, but if there is no physical damage to the wheel geometry, I dunno if anyone was going to bead-blast their wheels and powdercoat anyway...if they'd trade their nice gold front for mine...obviously I can post pics, and make a new thread I suppose. How does that all work here?

I saw that bike on Ebay! I thought it seemed like a good deal but it was too far from me. I ended up picking up one in MO for about the same price though so I lucked out.
As far as the wheel goes I was pleasantly suprised to learn the wheels straight from the dealer are very reasonably priced. You can pick up a new translucent amber front for around $370..some of the other colors are cheaper. I would try that and sell the old one on here or Ebay.

Cool, yea it cost a little under $500 to ship up, I'll prolly pick up a new front wheel if nobody is interested in it.

Just click one of these topics on the homepage; at the bottom will be the area to start a new thread.
