Wow I never knew so many people rode buell I have always loved these bike an anything american made I have a harley to but I wanted to say thanks for not being buying jap sportbikes it is to bad there are np more buells being made I really hope they start back up or make another american sportbike so when I have kids they can buy one!!!

That would be sweet eric buell is so smart with everything he designed on the buells I would really like to keep buyin his bikes harley has no reason not to sell it back to him!!!

He still needs a factory to build all the bikes in.. and everything else that goes along with mass producing bikes.. Thats a stretch to think that he can have all that done and start pumping out bikes by the end of the year. My guess is 2 years minimum. A company still needs to pick him like harley did back in the day and get the ball rolling.

when harley sees that the attempt to make a sport bike wannabe bike like the new sportsters and vrods wont pull in money like buell was, they will more than likely take Erik back, if he doesnt go to victory or something first

i hope he continues this venture. but i find it hard to beleive with EBR already jumping off as it is. erik just seems like someone who likes to be more involved with his company and thinking he'll do EBR and bring back Buell is a stretch.

that being said, i sincerely want him to bring back buell. just don't want to be misunderstood about that.

Salesman at Rossmyers here in So.Fla. told me he met Erik's uncle (I think thats what he said.. uncle) and that Erik is definately up to something as soon as his non-compete contract expires.

Of course this is not really earth shattering news but it did come from a family member. He is gonna do something- just what is the BIG question.

I hope harley will let him use them again I would really like the see the buells made with the harley v twins still I have a sportster an a buell firebolt I love the harleys

Gerald, I agree with you, but guys like us are a minority.

A lot of motorcycle enthusiasts don't care for the "boat anchor" engine with "no technology".

Usually the crowd that follows the "my engine is only X displacement and it puts out X horsepower" idealogy are the loudest complainers of the air-cooled motor in the Buell XB.

They just don't get the bike.

I love how loud they are for sure! The inline 4s are just one pitch to them! My friends talk **** bout my harley an say they are slow an make a lot of noise an I let them ride it an they like the power of the v twin I try to turn my friends to buell an harley all the time! An the work that erik but into the technology of the buells they were the first to put the pipe under the bike then jap bikes did then the oil tank in the swing arm an the gas in the frame that is the best idea ever the ztl brakes stop on a dime one of the reasons why kids my age don't ride buell is they don't know about them an I am changing they way they think bout them I have 3 buddies that are looking into getting firebolt plus now it is a peice of history!!! Sorry for typing a book ha

Wouldn't it be great if his plan was to use EBR to get some free press to launch a new company with a few wins?

A couple of things he'd really need. Advertising and independant sales. Almost everyone I talk to has never heard of Buell.

People see my helmet in the office and ask what do I ride? When I say "Buell", they say, "Oh? What's that?"

Sportbike riders don't go to Harley dealers. Period. He could easily sell them in powersports dealers with the right sales and marketing team.

But that's the reason we are in this economy now. Nothing is made in the US anymore. F the MoCo!

non compete clause may come to an end, sure... but what happens with the BUELL name and label. i am sure that HDwnkrs still hold rights to that label? is so what is Erik going to name his new steed. EBR?

No but to be honest ik really don't think buell would be that big if they weren't with harley that is the reason I really got one I hate victory an others but idk we all think dif bout things

I always root for the underdog. I think Erik got the shaft and especially the American workers and families that built them. He's pushing 60 years old now, I hope his passion for bikes will still be there in a couple of years.
