Buell xb12r love and hate relationship

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

From what i have seen with the Buell is that it is still a Harley motor as such at the end of the day. They do have a few better parts and tricked out a little but its still a Harley. My GF has the XB9 and i have the XB12S and we ride quite a bit. If you ride the piss out of them then you will have **** but as a Harley motor, you need to just relax a bit and it will never die. Every now and then you can stick it a bit but not all the time.

"It's a friggin' Buell, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you $hit your pants every now and then. It's a fricking motorcycle, suck it up!"

I must say that mine is pretty comfy and i have done long rides with no comfort issues. My GF's 9 on the other hand is a lot more uncomfy for some reason but i think its because the gear selector has been set for her smaller feet.
I love that bark and growl they give and that sound makes me want more

Thaloc I'm guessing you're in your 20's and your mommy and daddy have paid for many of the things you have. Like I said, I'm guessing. I really don't care. You speak like a teenage boy. Right is right. If you ride your bike like that on the track then who cares? If you ride like that on the street you are one of the many who need their license revoked before you or someone else gets killed. This forum is for helping each other out but it is also for free roaming and blathering from kids like you who have swollen balls. Btw don't worry they'll drop one day.

I truly hope one day you see the light of day and learn to respect life. I doubt you ever do but just so you know, I'll be rooting for you there Mr Sugarpuddin. Now go play your video games because no one on here is impressed by your words except that guy in your bathroom mirror.

^^^ I wish I could give you 4 thumbs up for that ...oh wait! I can

Lesley, everything is an age thing with you, and i think youre self concious about it. Youre old, youre wise, and youre done. Your years of thrill seeking and pussy chasing are gone, not cause youve learned through your experiences, its cause you cant- youre old.
You may call it abuse, I call it riding it like it's meant to be ridden. You can "baby" your bike all you want, and 10, 20, 30 years down the road when you cant lean over a sportbike anymore and have to pick up a comfy touring bike, you'll walk out to your garage one day and see your pristine XB. Maybe you'll have regrets, maybe you wont.
^^^ I think someone has a regret or 2, but instead of admitting it they try to justify their wasted time. You dont live for ever guys, being a sissy might increase your chances towards a longer life, but youll have missed out on all the fun, or someone might just run a red light at 80 and take you out anyways. Dont waste your life, dont waste your Buell.

different strokes.5 years from now i would rather have a bike that is wore the f out than pristine and would rather go in the next 10 years than at 80 in bed.jmho

Lesley,

I'm 29 y/o I'v been on my own since 16 working full time, paying rent, making ends meet. I'm married with 2 daughters, a three y/o and a 1 y/o. I wouldn't say I'm ultra successful, but I dont live paycheck to paycheck, I dont have any family other than a few sister's poorer than I am. I have never been handed anything in my life, everything I have I worked my ass off for.

FYI I bought my Buell new off the showroom floor when In 2008 when I was 24 before the firesale, when the prices were larger. I have had a stator replaced, a rocker box gasket replaced, and I snapped a belt clutching up at 60. Minor **** here and there that was a quick and easy fix with the help of people on this forum. While I have dialed it back more than a few notches since my daughters were born, I still ride a sport bike like it was meant to be ridden.

I never said I blast down city streets splitting lanes, or riding 100mph wheelies down the freeway. You will catch me breaking the speed limit on back roads, bending sweepers, getting my suspension set just right, and just feeling out the many back roads we got here in the PNW. I ride within my limits and have never wrecked my Buell other than a 5mph lowside in slushy conditions riding to the birth of my god son.

You Sir should take judgmental ego you have and turn it inward and do a bit of self reflecting before you try to sigmond freud me.

Again, if you wanna baby your Buell, be my guest, I hope your satisfied when your riding days are over, I really am. I personally bought an American Sport Bike to ride as if I bought and American Muscle Car, not to pussy foot around on. You call it childish, immature, abuse. I call it using the machine for its intended purpose.

Again... Take it how you like it.

Ride the snot out of em, keep em n the garage and use a dab of loctite if u f with anything. I don't even wash my two rider buells but I will if I gotta drop the motor. IV rode buells since my x1. I buy a new bike just about every year. The only ones IV kept are xb's they're friggn tough bikes. I think bikes like to be rode hard and often especially buells. Go put some miles on ur buells worry about what's 100ft in front of u instead of what you look like on ur bike or what Leslie thinks of u. A buelligans a buelligan tho no matter how they got to b one or what they paid for it. But if they stole it I hope they go over the bars and break some vertabre

Ride your bike as hard as you want , there not jap inline fours . You redline them , rev them up or beat em **** will rattle loose. It's your bike ride it within your comfort level. When you shake it apart the answer is simple , shift or slow the **** down and it won't happen. If you decide you want to run hard wear gear! I'd hate to read about you getting hurt.
