Buellers without Buells...

that's nuts! glad it worked out for you...what made you pull the trigger with little to no prior knowledge or research?

I owned a Yamaha FZR600. My now wife at the time was going to school up in Vancouver Canada and I would ride up there on the weekends and chill. We were walking downtown one evening and I seen a guy on a white and blue firebolt, I literally stood in place, dumbstruck for a good couple minutes in awe looking at the amazing machine before my eyes. A week later I owned a white and blue bolt.

That was early 2008, I love my Buell and will never get rid of her. Even when the engine grenades, I will just hang the bike from the rafters of my garage like an old school bomber is flight museum. Or find some way to cram an 1190 motor into it.

That's an epic story. That's the way it outta be! I felt the same way, only I don't have one yet. But i saw my first Buell, and I knew I had to have one. I just need to come up with the money.

Well i am an x bueller I have a 09 R1 and and aprilia RS125 now but i still love the buell community and help as much as i can.

i sold mine about 2 weeks ago - and bought a supermoto.

totally different bikes - miss the buell, but dont regret it - love the supermoto -

Are you going to sell the gixxer and get a Buell or hold onto two bikes?

Although I could .. I can't justify having two streetbikes and a dirtbike :D gonna sell the gixxer and maybe wait and save for a future EBR model. Or maybe if I find an awesome deal on a Buell than I'll probably buy it.

i love being here and all has been very helpful , i am with out a buell do to the a--hole that sold from underneath me , and now in the search for one , i have the cash but no bikes near me that are not wrecked yikes :( but good things will come to all those who wait gl all on yur searches

Wait, i thought you had that orange and black one ChuckieE? Did that guy screw you over?

I am a bueller without a buell. Currently deployed to Afghanistan and heartset on getting a buell when i return. Already got my eyes set on a sexy one imparticular that a forum member is selling. Just hope i can talk him into waiting for me to get back to sell. I've learned lots about what i want my buell to do but like most i still cant decide what exhaust. Currently stuck between Force(which is made anymore so hard to find), D&D, Hawk, and to obtain that true roar maybe custom straight pipes. But ive about talked myself out of the straight pipe ideas because of all the negative effects i've read on this forum. The bike i want has a real street fighter appearance so i really want that v-twin roar and lopy idle. Anyway nice to officially meet you all and join the community. I'm Jon

Supposidly that thing right there is supposed to have a lip on the inside for a ball ramp which connects to the clutch.

So I now have a much stronger fix for the lip, but upon install broke a brand new clutch cable. Spent another $65 for another one the same day and it should be here Friday. I hope to be running by Saturday afternoon.

@UH60CREWGOD - What Buell are you looking at in particular? You should try to have someone at home put some money down on her so he can't sell her. How soon will you be home?

MacBuell - hope you can get back on her this weekend!

This is not the greatest picture but this is the one. He doesnt get on the forum much so talking back n forth is difficult to arrange a plan. My only thing against giving him the money now is i have access to a saving account here that makes 10% interest. But only eligible for the time im deployed. I want to keep as much as i can in the account till Feb. (when i come home) Its free money. If it came down to it yea i would throw a grand to him to hold it or something.

Ah, i have seen that Buell around. He makes some custom bikes with his Dad i think? I can't remember his name but I have seen him around here. Bike looks great. Not exactly my style, but I like that its different and chopped.

Yea that's really what appeals to me. I like different. Eyecatcheers. That way when your driving down the road you never see another vehicle like yours. That and it meets botj of my likes. I like the chopper look but love the handling of a sport bike. Best of both worlds. That and being 6'1 and 160lbs im a bit to scrawny to pull off a Vrod or something. I'm really heart-set on this bike hope i can make it happen after Afghanistan

That poor Firebolt, no taste! I hope you guys find a normal Buell for yourself, it took me a couple years to commit to buying one and I'm glad I waited because I got my 1025 mile 09 Firebolt for $5800 not one mod on it. I was looking on cycle trader and there is some good deals on 09+ XB's which imo are the way to go because everything is black (frame, forks, motor)

Yeah, i prefer a more "normal" Buell that I can do what I want with. I am not a huge fan of the bike pictured above, but I respect the creativity and unique aspect. I need more money.

Well I know how you non Buellers feel. When Buell came out with the XB I knew I was going to have one someday. Last year I broke down and picked up an 03 Xb9s being blind to the Buell world. I ended up lucking out and got a clean well kepy one but I sure wish I had done my homework before hand. This site has been the best thing for me, I've learned alot here. Well one year later I just passed my 03 on to another proud member on the forum and I too almost was back without a Buell. I knew that was going to be a hard pill to swallow so I searched around and ended up going to NJ from Maine(8hrs,420miles) to pick up my new to me 04 Xb12s and I'm back in the game. I actually at one point for about 12hrs had two Buells sitting in the garage, never thought I'd see the day!! So to all you Buellers without Buells, do your homework and your day will come if you set your heart on owning one of these awsome pieces of American history. In the mean time I wish all of you guys and gals the best of luck finding the one for you. Take care and ride safe -Arthur-

I can't take it anymore. I want one, I want one, I want one! My 19 yr old just taded his POS Dodge Omni for a 79 Honda 400 automatic. I sat on it today and ssshhh, I wanted to ride it. I miss not having a bike, but after being on here, I gotta have a Buell. I started out wanting a 1125R, but since I've been on this forum I'm torn between that and a XB12SCG. I have a wife and two kids and three dogs I can trade.
