I wander out to the garage; unveil the CR to pump a little gas thru it since it was a balmy 30° in Illinois. Once it turned over the gas light and check engine light immediately came on ( I know it’s 3/4 full). I thought ok I’ll let it warm up to temp before I get to concerned. When the display stopped flashing cold the check engine and low fuel lights were still lit. I only have 300 miles on it, not sure what’s going on any thoughts?

my XB loves cold air and the cooler air as do most engines....
hope you find an answer to your predicament
:)

I HAVE ALSO HEARD OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE FUEL GAUGE IN COLD WEATHER BUT BEING IN AZ HAVE NOT HAD THE ISSUE MYSELF YET

This appears to be a common problem and showed up on my bike before I got to ride it for the first time. The two lights will go out after a couple of miles. If you read the messages on badweatherbikers, they all say it is an instrument cluster problem that requires the whole unit to be changed. This is also backed up by my local dealer (service bulletin from Buell).

The system is without doubt checking the voltage of all sensors, when it is very cold the battery is not working at its best and the motor requires more power to turn it over - all causes for the sensor voltage to be low and out of spec. Check your fault codes and you should see the following errors:

Fuel PR System Error code P0 193
Low Fuel System Error code b1 005

My local stealership :) offered to pick up my bike in a week or two, when they catch up op on there back log. They were pretty adamant about not riding it in.

There's a similar discuss on bwb

How about para-phrasing? the reason most of us use buellxb.com is due to the fact that we don't care for other sites. I'd rather spend the night crashing their servers than to visit their site filled with crappy html and irrelevant ads.

THAT'S HOW I ROLL.... Actually when I'm on my work computer I have to do all my invoices in caps so I forget to switch over....

I keep my bike on a charger at all times and i've never had a problem. I've started it in some cold temps, but it is stored in a insulated building, so probably never below freezing.

Longest my bike has sat without riding is 2 weeks.

The snow has finally started to melt here in the bi-state region of Iowa and Illinois. I pull the battery tender off and went for a 30 mile spirited ride down the two lane highway. The fuel and check engine light flickered a little bit, and then finally they stayed off after 5ish miles. I do believe that it was just a low amperage condition.

Has anybody had a problem with your Cr blowing oil smoke when the weather is cold? I seem to be blowing smoke from No. 2 cylinder if the weather is cold. It does do it when it's warm. Mine only has 243 miles on it[confused]
