SO! I'm 6'1 220lbs... with a 35" waist! I have a huge upper body and long arms, but a pretty narrow waist... All the sizing charts dont fit me exactly.

I want a >$500 suit for some track days.

Should I get bigger suit and have it tailored or...?

Have you thought about a two piece suit? You can get the jacket that fits and the pants that fit then zip them together.

I feel you. Getting jackets for wide shoulders is a pain, though I have a spare tire that is steadily gaining mass after this last deployment that is filling my jacket out better now though. So if anyone has info on suits I would greatly appreciate the help as well.

I recommend teizms.com
You can get a textile suit made for your measurements for under $500.

I have one and it fits great.
It's textile and not leather, but I think it is as good protection as any you can get without getting into neck braces and pressure suits.

There's a massively long thread on advrider if you want some feedback from other owners.

This is a great time to buy a suit.
Sportbike track gear has some closeout and old modles last i looked. new gear is coming out for spring.
If your Spending 500 Don't get textile you can only ride Novice in it. atleast the group i ride with.
2 piece maybe be eaiest and there ok for most track days including advance i think.
I went to STG and tried them on i am freakishly tall and skinny with broad shoulder and long arms.
6'3" 175#'s ended up size 54 A* trigger they run one size larger so it would be a 56 in any other brand

couple other thing shop criagslist and Ebay if you can't get to a store like cycle gear( they are closing out the 2010 Frank thomas Stuff) or STG and try some on.
If you buy used and it doesn't fit you can get you $$ back without a loss.
Wera forum would be another good place to whatch.
Hell i got a pari of old A* boots for 15 Bucks
