Hey, has anybody had to re-pack there jardine carbonfiber rt1 exhaust? Ive been runnin this exhaust for 1 year, and get nothing but compliments. Between the looks, and the sound its been sweet! Last week i was changeing the rear tire an noticed its turnin black on top. does that mean i need to re-pack? If so then how?

I think it needs repacking after 5000 miles. LAME!

Bajabomber87 just about died after he repacked and his rivets failed and he ran over the end cap. So.... be careful! Would you trust your rivets with your life? I wouldn't trust mine.

I just re-packed mine. It wasn't that big of a deal. I bought a bag of 4-stroke repacking from my local bike shop - it came with both packing materials and new rivets. I bought a cheap rivit gun and used the mateials in the bag. I think it was $25 and maybe an hour or so of my time. Make sure you wear a long sleeve shirt and some gloves. Mine started getting really loud, so I figured it was time to repack it.

In my opinion - it was worth it to have the sound and look of the carbon canister (and I had the race exhaust prior to the CF).

Why wouldn't you trust your rivets? I don't know how you could screw them enough that the endcap would fall off?

Cool thanks for the info! and i agree the pipes awesome! even if i ran over my end-cap i would stick with the jardine. (but that would suck!)

Easy as pie! The inner metal piece that you wrap fits eaisly back into the pipe. It's oversized on one end so that you can pull out the inner metal roll, wrap it, and then put it back in so it will line up like it's supposed to.

If you don't repack it the rivits will strech the pipe and cause slight damage, at least it does on the aluminum pipe, dunno about the CF.
