I recently got a set of Q2s for my wife and I. Everything works great. People can hear me clearly and I can hear everything around me.

My problem is the unit and plate that sits on the side of the helmet seems to be grabbing my jacket in the shoulder. I have a A* MX-1 and the unit keeps hooking on the neoprene neck cuff. It actually keeps me from turning my head left at times, which is a major issue. Anyone else have similar issues ? solutions? I love how it works, but I can't give up that kind of safety.

i've got the g4's and i haven't noticed any problems with it catching anything yet. of course i haven't had any really cold gear on yet but when i do, i'll let you know if i do have any problems.

loosen the mounts a bit and try pushing it higher and further forward. Maybe take a picture so we can see how it's mounted.

Not sure if I'd trust velcro to hold it on the outside of the helmet at speeds, but I'll look into it if I can't figure something out.

I looked at my problem a bit more. It hangs up alot more when riding in more of a tuck position. Because my head is tilted up, the rear of the helmet is closer to my back/shoulders. I might have mounted the bracket too far back, so moving it forward some may clear my shoulders. Also I am using the adhesive mount so it hangs down a little more than the clamp.

I really can't believe that something hanging down 1/4 inch from the helmet is having clearance issues. Maybe I got a short neck.

Dave, I looked at the pics you posted of your setup. It doesn't really look like mine hangs lower.

I'm at work so can't get pics til tomorrow.

I did notice that your mounting harness is different than mine. On mine the speaker boom and mic wires both are on the front and the MP3 jack is on the back.

I guess I just gotta keep playing with it.

My helmet isn't here to compare right now, but I'm pretty sure that base that's in the picture is the old style without the mp3 jack. I eventually upgraded and added the jack which relocated things.

I think you're right. You need to move it further forward. I'm using the clamp on mount. I notice a snag when I'm wearing a hoodie under my jacket, but I've never had anything catch with just my jacket on. My has the XL boom and I'm still able to keep it pretty far forward. I would give that a try.

Thanks, for the help. I love this thing and it works great. But the first time I went flying into a left turn and my head wouldn't turn...it scared the crap out of me.

My wife had the same problem.

As she looks left more for merging into traffic she moved it to the right side of her helmet and bent the boom under it so it would still reach.
I'd say she also ended up with it closer to the front of her helmet.
