Hi guys got my 1st Buell couple months ago. 2007 Firebolt XB9R 3000 Miles All original except Jardine. Love the bike... I even ride in the rain sometimes. I've already rotated the engine and removed the headers. I do firearms refinishing so I decided to use some Cerakote C Series hi-temp ceramic graphite black that I use for suppressors and machinegun barrels... If you didn't know it yet... they are also the industry leader in exhaust coatings.

I also decided to do the airbox delete. We had some scrap diamond plate left over so I measured the inner/outer size and cut a piece to size. Got a few bolts/nuts/washers from HD... (home depot :)) Since the pic I have cut down the bolts to size and added a 12 volt socket that plugs into the battery tender cable for my... OtterBox Cell Mount.

Got some 1/4"-20 x 2- 1/2 machine screws, washers, rubber isolator pads, super glue...Super glue you say?... Yes it makes it very easy to glue the rubber washer, steel washer and locking nut all together... So its a one quick shot up to install.

I'm running Torque on my Android here is a screen shot. If your also running Torque and you want custom dashboard with your bike details or whatever in gauges let me know.

I also have ECMspy, cable and megalog viewer. Working on a tune for Jardine, K&N+Airbox Delete. I live in FL so it gets a bit hot down here... I'm already replacing rocker gaskets went bad around 4000 miles on bike,

that sounds like a pretty cool product [up]

nice job, good stuff going on with your Buell

you are better off just cutting the top of your airbox off and using the top as a lid for that air cleaner. The original airbox had a cone on the roof to prevent a vortex from forming in the intake. Intakes like cold non-turbulent air.. a flat lid is gonna cause turbulence in there.

Yes I know...Although I haven't experienced any issues I am currently having a professional molder friend of mine copy the cone. For the final I'm going to use a hard polymer. I'm doing a clear lid with EL wire inside, experimenting with 2 types right now... One is a poured clear acrylic which has set inside a design done in EL wire... The other is a custom creation of mine done in corel which uses our 45 Watt laser cutter/engraver to make several pieces for me to place EL wire onto/into.

cool.. what kind of suppressors and class 3 are you messing with?

the lack of a cone wont really cause "issues" it will just cost you some on the dyno or effect your power band

Apparently off of pecker hwy LOL

I passed a red bolt on 520 friday evening, was it you?

I'm in Central Florida, Winter Haven. Coolest Class III devices I have built or worked on are... Our GE M134 Minigun as pictured on our table from Knob Creek KY Machinegun Shoot and a MK19 Grenade Launcher we built. That was not me on 520... :( But yes Recker hwy (Pecker lol) usually has my bolt on it. As far as suppressors, gemtech, silencerco, aac a few others. Some small mom and pop suppressor builders too.

yeah cool, those are the tools of my trade, Im ex 101st Airborne, 1.327th Infantry and the 1/506th back when it was on the DMZ in Korea (Camp Greaves 1990-91) I was everything from a M-60 gunner to a RECON scout.. I used a lot of that stuff.. 40mm grenades, AT-4 rockets, M-47 Dragon missles, M2 50cal.. all that shit. Right now Im running a custom AMD-65. Im living in Sanford FL, black and amber XB12R and Im working on picking up this yellow M2 Cyclone as a side project. We gotta ride some time me and you..got a lot to talk about. You hand load too?

Tell us more about that custom exhaust coating, I currently use a local coating shop that does a variety of ceramic and heat dispersant coatings,,, i think ill stay with them for the pistons and valves,, but would like to perhaps do some of my own coatings on exhaust as its expensive to pay others to do it.
Im prepared to make an oven to cure it in,.... is there a website for that company? or a page on instructions?
is there alternative finishes like gloss black? or Silvers?
Cool toys you got there.
Theres a local guy known as "Uncle Blasto" who used to have a Ural with a sidecar, painted it desert camo and put Afrika Korp logos on it, mounted a replica MG42 on it with bandoleers of ammo, Wore a tunic and helmet that looked like German Werhmacht,,
He got pulled over by the cops a LOT,, but usually, they just wanted their pictures taken sitting on it or in the sidecar.

Hey annoyance, if you go to cerakote.com or nicindustries.com you can see the various types of cerakote used and all the tech data. Alot of people know them by the name prismatic powders.
