How much is everyone paying for ceramic coating their headers? I have gotten a price from a place in town that does coating for IndyCar teams for $65, and that includes sandblasting too. They also said they could do the inside of the header too. What do you think? If anyone's interested, I can either give you their address or facilitate it for my cost. I am going to have mine done as soon as I get the $$.

Indianapolis...here is their information. Seems like pretty good pricing. There is a "contact us" tab at the left of this page.

Looks like you might want to double check my pricing. It looks like they raised their prices a little since I had emailed them about a month ago. Still looks reasonable. They did say, for sandblasting, it is +$25 as long as there are no coatings on it now (like ours stock)

Whatever you do, don't do flat black. It's basically twice as likely to corrode because of it's half the thickness of gloss colors like silver.

I've seen some rusting ceramic pipes that don't look good.

I guess any glossy color is ok, even glossy black. If it was me, I'd try to get a glossy color that's similar to the graphite gray frame.

I don't know if it's just flat black or if it's all flat/glossy that is crap. It makes sense though. The glossy colors do seem thicker and they fill the groves and pits.

At Airborne Coatings here in Charlotte they do ceramic coatings for H.D. 2 into 1 for $160, and import 2 into 1 for $105 inside and out. I don't know which one they consider a Buell though because they don't list any other non-import motorcycles.

I just wrapped my headers last summer to help with the heat issue on my leg, but I've heard good things about ceramic coating, I just didn't have the money. I've read some articles on it and it seems that ceramic coatings will get pretty warm while the bike is on, but once the bike is shut off they cool down real quick. I've always heard mixed reviews on coating the inside in case bits of the coating come loose. But even if they did, wouldn't you just blow them out the pipe anyway?

I had my Bassani Pro Streets for my superglide coated in a gloss dark grey two years ago for $125 at performance coatings in Auburn WA. Liked it so much that I did the rest of the cases, rockers, primary, and cam cover for about $250. $65 is a screaming deal.
