I've searched around and it seems people have thrown this idea out there, but has anyone done this as a DIY for the exhaust and headers? I'm looking into doing this myself if I can since I have plenty of spare time.

Just had mine done at a shop, this way I knew it would turn out perfect and if not I wouldnt have paid for it until it was.

$40 for the muffler and I just dropped it off and picked it up. [smirk][up]

I would just have a shop do it personally, they have all the crap to do it right and have it come out looking just right. Plus the semi-gloss black ceramic coating is good to 2000 degrees, the can stuff is stated to be good to 1200 degrees but I have had it burn off exhausts that I know dont even reach 1000 degrees, Just my 2 pennies.

I would say that if you are really pinching pennies in trying to get your bike back on the road...and it seems that you are...I would skip the ceramic header coating for now.

It's a nice upgrade but you probably want to just get rolling again first.

ceramic coating is expensive. I wish it was 40 bucks here. The cheapest ive found so far is a guy doing it in his garage and baking the stuff in an old oven and he wants 175
