I've got some Optimas that are 8+ years old and going strong! The ones I bought 3-4 years ago don't last for crap I've read through all the drama about them too. Seems like you can't make any money in this capitalist system without also planning obsolescence...

Big crank batteries are AGM batteries and that is what is in my Buell . Deka makes big crank batteries. My battery is 7 years old and working great still. Now that I said that my battery will probably take a sh-t tomorrow.

I got a Shorai lithium iron in my 1203, its been going super good for about 18 months now but I keep it plugged in to the computer charger when not in use... weighs 3 pounds! Love it but I don't 100% trust it yet..

we used these when i was a kid to light the glow plug when firing up little gasoline tether planes and tether cars. wonder how they'd work in a buell? would i need more than 1? would it fit in the stock battery box? would i need a special "tender"? thank you for your input.

DAMN, I thought I was the only one... I haven't had ANY problems with mine yet, not even warm-up lag. A lot better than that Ballistic I used to use... yours all running strong?

Every single one of em. No warm up lag and continues to run strong even through the winter on all the bikes. Tom your the one that actually convinced me to give em a try. I have had them in for a little over a year.

well I'm not scared to try new **** but I KNOW I'm trying "new ****" know what I mean? New **** scares everyone when it first comes out, I remember when guys were saying that fuel injection was never gonna work out. The ONLY thing I am keeping an eye on with this Shorai is vibration, that's the only way I think this batt could fail, vibes getting to it... but I it is the same battery the 1190 is running so that makes me feel a bit better even though they don't vibrate as much at idle as the thunderstorm does.. I think its gonna be ok though.. its been 18 months... or about that.

actually my obama bat-phone that i received free from the safelink tracfone program has a self contained lithium ricky....ya smart ass. LOL the amish still use dry cells to run the electric fences to keep the cattle contained....and for the little ladys' vibrator. so i'm told but actually need wally to confirm same. he's up on these things.
