Clear air box covers being fabbed

Layed in bed thinking about a clear cover with translucent color buell lettering and LEDs inside that would really turn some heads when it's lit up. Also thinking about doing belt guards and the rear hugger, but I think it would be best to make it out of something like kyvek, a lot stronger and still somewhat plyable, dunno how many colors are out there for that, anyone have a xb hugger they can lend, I don't have one.

Count me in . This is the best idea I have heard in a long time, also Im pretty sure I have a spare rear tire hugger off my old 06 xbr that I would be willing to donate to the cause. let me know if you still need it [email protected]

Ya count me down. But I don't want just a tank cover. Thinking about doing any other pieces or can you

I could do any piece within reason, if there's enough interest in certain pieces I will definitely do it, I will start making the mold and the vacuum former this tomorrow, and order the clear plastic so I can get pics out ASAP. I want mine done ASAP cause my airbox is all jacked up cause its old and tired

What would be awesome is if you could match the translucent colors and make translucent fenders and chin fairings.

Just takes time and money, bad thing though, is those pieces see a lot of road grime and rocks, it would chip or even crack them

So make them with a clear thin cover like you where thinking for the air box. Make it a replaceable part?

Mocking up a mold tomorrow, and starting to make the stuff that will form these.. I wont do any other parts right away till people are happy with the airbox cover, also I have been thinking about copyright laws or trademark laws.. might have to do some sort of forced air mod to it so I am safe from the lawyers and such, so if no ones got any issues with that, or has another idea, I dont mind doing multiple molds as long as this one I am doing tomorrow is not to much of a pain in the A$$

I like the idea of the scoops on the airbox cover.... Sounds partially functional too!!...
