Hey guys, I'm new to the Buell scene, I just got a Firebolt XB12 but I need to replace the clutch lever -- the cable is just fine, the bike was dropped lightly and broke the very end of the clutch lever off.

I've read the PDF manual for changing the cable, but it really doesn't say a whole lot about changing just the lever? Could anyone provide some assistance? I'm not sure where to start...I'd like to try and do it myself if possible. Thanks a bunch!

The bolt that it pivots on, take that out. The lever will unhook from the cable. Done

REALLY EASY![up]

seriously? wow, seems easy. One of the bolts on the perch has a nut underneath that looks like it's a real pain to get to. Is that the one?

Do I have to adjust the tension on the cable in order to remove/install???

Yes that is the one, and no just remove the bolt.

I just used a socket on the top of the bolt, it unscrewed. When I put it back on, I used needle noes pliers

sounds easy mode to me -- I'm assuming install is just easy...let me know otherwise. Thanks a bunch for your assistance!

It is VERY easy. It took me about 3 min to reroute my confused clutch cable. The hardest part was going back to my tool box for the pliers.

When re-installing the clutch lever, fit the "nub" at the end of the clutch cable into the lever, before putting the lever back on.
