Comfort kit or Pipe wrap..?

I did both myself...it helps to keep both the rider cooler and the engine cooler. My fan hardly comes on unless I go for a long ride. It's been up to 115 degrees easy in Vegas.

Or just go with the Uly kit from HD. It think it was like $35.00 when said and done. Its not an exact match to he left but its hardly noticeable!

Anyone every had their header Jet-Hot coated? I know it's not exactly cheap, but it seems it would be a good route to go to keep the pipes cooler, and look better than header wrap?

There's a lot of heat coming off the back header (where it connects to engine)under seat and exiting at the seam on right side of seat. That exit is on the right thigh. What I did was cut a piece of rubber and placed it under seat blocking the heat from exiting at that spot. I also wrapped my headers.

Jet-hot is a name brand, it's just a ceramic coat. You'll pay extra for the name. You can get a real nice interior and exterior ceramic coat for right around $150 - $200.

From what I've heard ceramic coating doesn't block as much heat as the wrap, but it is better for your pipes.

I've got both a wrap and a right side scoop ($35 at americansportbike.com)

Well I'll be dad-gum... The ULY I test drove had those little heat shields in place... I didnt know what they were until just now tho! LOL

I have told my wife several times, I didnt feel this kind of heat on the other Uly... I was actually a tad worried mine was running hotter.

I will order that little heat shield and a HD comfort kit today!... Thanks a TON!

xtreme... I would highly recomend bying one of those 23 dollar heat shields. I test rode a Uly at my local Honda dealer for about 25 miles...and I never did notice the heat like I do on the one I bought.
I went ahead and sprung for the scoop too just because my fan runs a LOT...so I am thinking it couldnt hurt to force somee air flow in that direction. LOL
