I am wondering if I can convert the existing H7 halogen bulbs on my 09 XB9SX to a hi/lo or bi-xenon HID headlamp. That way both headlamps have hi/lo ability. I was thinking if I splice the hi/lo beam wires and replace the existing headlamp plug with an H4 plug that it might work. Does anyone have any advice for or against this idea?

I was going to do something like that but it wont work out too well. Each one of the headlight housing is aimed to be a high or a low beam. So even when you have your lows on the high beam housing will be aimed higher than the low housing. You would be blinding on coming drivers. Just put the h7 hid's in they work great. I only did the low beam, and it's enough.

You have to change the reflectors inside the housing because of the direction of beam and lamp position inside the housing!

So you must buy H4 housings for that purpose.
The electrical wiring it´s an easy task.
