do the xb9's have a loud valve tap normally? its nota loud tap, goes away at high RPMs, just under a load and at idle i can hear a tap tap tap tap sound.
backstory is i picked up a 2005 xb9 with 150 miles on it, was told the oil was changed and it was black. so i changed the oil and put in some castrol 4stroke 20w50 oil with a mobil 1 oil filter. bike now has a thousand miles on it and the tap is slightly louder. I'm going to change to vtwin synthetic in a week or so.
the bike still idles rough, so would a hard tps reset work? before i do that i'm going to pull the scoop off and cut the zip tie.
also, i recently did my first map, followed the megalog to the T. could my tapping be a ping at idle/low rpms?
