maybe i missed the answer to this . but did you already pay the fines or did you appeal the decisions or what?? I would look up your laws for the state and county/city laws where you got the ticket. every state has the laws and statutes online and most cities/counties too. lookup (yourstate).gov google your city/county website and laws.

Not trying to stir the pot here, but I can see what Jasonxb9 is saying. Not that I disagree with the assessment of the system. It sucks. They treat us like money instead of the people that keep this country running with our tax dollars. The system is often corrupt in so many places. As a motorcyclist, they're usually against you every step of the way, unless you get a cop or judge that rides or is a bike enthusiast. That much is obvious with ridiculous stuff like exhaust stickers for decibel ratings and etc being passed. It's really nothing new though. The cops in NYC have a quota on the number of tickets they hand out a day. One cop admitted it on camera and caught backlash for it and the city has denied it ever since. Even thought they say the system works, everyone's been screwed by it sometime or another.

Most people will acknowledge this before ever getting on a bike. It sounds as though you knew you were speeding but you were looking to get off on a technicality and when they overlooked protocol (rights violation/injustice) and waved off your defense or chance to present the technicality, you got upset. By speeding, you put yourself at the mercy of a corrupt system. It's unfortunate that in this day and age, its something we have to worry about but it doesn't make it any less real. The same way as its unfair to be a responsible rider and get grouped together with a guy stunting his busa on a public highway. It happens though and the only way to make a distinction is through how you ride.

Do I always ride my bike under the speed limit? no... but if i'm given a ticket for speeding (haven't been caught yet) and I know I was speeding... Its a battle I lost the second I broke the limit.. not the second I got caught or the second they waved off my excuse. If you had been passing this cop doing 30mph 10 seconds after your friend passed her doing 90, do you think the situation would have been the same and you would have been put in a position to have your rights overlooked? I understand this was just venting about the system. Perhaps it was the subject line that maybe had people read into it a certain way. (i.e. I broke the law, so I should break another one to rectify the situation.) You can't control the system, but you can control how you ride.

Running next time might help you or it might help you hit and kill someone, you didn't pose a danger to originally (which is what the speeding tickets about) UptheMaiden brings up the smartest thing I have seen people do... have your own evidence. Onboard cameras, pictures, Gps speedos, etc. Of course, this is just my opinion.

i was speeding but not doing the same speed as my friend.

So you were riding slower than the friend you were riding with? [confused] I'm not sure how that works...

You did the crime, man up and do the time (or pay the fine!).

Take it from someone who knows..... There is no justice in court, only laws..... If you're looking for justice you are in the wrong place.....

rep point to j undisputed...right on.

i know it isnt what you are going to want to hear, but go stand in front of the mirror and ask yourself "what did I do that opened the door to this situation?"

police and judges deal with people day in, day out. you admitted you were speeding. sometimes you get screwed, problem here is you are unclear on who exactly it was that screwed you. i give you credit for not hating on the police officer, good for you. and yes, i concede the system can suck; i've been run through the ringer much harder than this scenario you describe. realize that your decision to speed, and riding with people who were speeding, is what got you into this situation.

I once got an unsafe start ticket for spinning tires in my car in a dirt driveway... it's been a year and my DA still hasn't done anything about the reduction form. I try to contact the court, have left multiple voice mails and still nothing. Finally get a notice that if I don't resolve this I lose my license. As if I'm the one who's dragging my feet?! Fail = NYS Court system.

oh and i admited to yall i was speeding. but not to them. and all day ppl go the same speed i was going down this particular road. one of those road speed limit is slow and no one goes it. this post didnt work so well. the real meaning seems to have been mostly overlooked. it all good though.

no, we get it. that is the thing about life, sometimes it just up and ***** ya. you have no control over much of it. and being 21, alot of times they are just going to look at your age and that will be that. the best thing you can do is recognized situations where you might get scrutinized unfairly, and avoid said situations as much as you can. as you get older, it gets easier to see these situations develop and to avoid them. there is a reason us older guys are the way we are.
i was trying to show you that looking at your-own-self and your part in this will be the best thing you can do to release the anger you feel. i think younger people tend to look outward to assign blame for things that happen to them, older people tend to look inward. i have nothing to gain by pointing fingers at you, or causing you stress. i got better things to do. peace out..
