well had court today for speeding ticket i got for friend who was riding with me. he was in front of me going faster and i got ticket for his same speed. cop said i was bike length behind. this was at 10:30 at night goin straight toward the cop so depth perception is near impossible on two bikes in same lane. went to court. video clearly shows me 20-30 yards behind friend. which is lil more than a bike lenght at 5 and half feet. so ticket based on pacing from another vehicle, when distant estimate was proven to be way off... no thats not enough to caus any sort of reasonable doubt according to judge. not even to reduce my ticket. so i get a $300 ticket and he also wouldnt consider letting me do defensive. its just a joke. its not due process its going through the motion of due process. he also found everyone in there guilty today. cop came up to me after and said in 4 and half years she had never had someone as prepared with facts as i was and handle myself as well. and tht her estimate on distant was off a lil. this is the cop that gave me ticket!!! So at almost 21 years old i have to say my view of government systems is very bleak. can honestly say tht i havent seen ything in our system that they teach u is supposed to be in school. lady befoer my blew through stop sign and her ticket was half cost of mine when she could have easyily killed someone. is this justice or just business... what incentive is there nowadays besides fear of following what the current establisment want you to do when they dont even do what they say. they dont really give you due process and consider the facts because thats money coming out of the city funds. it may not be like this where yall are at but here i feel it is now. so why would i stop in the same situation. not when i live half mile away and just get in garage a shut door before cop even turns around. im just venting but it really is an issue

im glad yall agree. and business is bout who hustles harder than the next guy. so next time they try tht bs they goin see how hard i can hustle.. in pure torque aspect. be like see ya

I got threatened by an "undercover" DEA agent that he was going to take my license because I was going 92 in a 55

but he didn't even care that I was gunning it to avoid getting smashed by a semi that didn't signal and merged into my lane. I immediately slowed down and he pulled me over after flying up on my ass in his unmarked truck, almost hitting me

we had a nice little discussion, then he complimented my bike and riding skills

oh I have stuff for that too, just not on the bike

when I was 16 I got my license taken on my first offense
during the stop the cop had my drive to the police station where he detained me for about an 1 1/2 hour
I contested it, the cop didn't show up and they still took it

I used to get pulled over constantly when I lived in the suburbs for doing nothing more than being on a motorcycle. The cops were just so bored that they assumed they'd give me a hard time. They'd ride behind me for a few miles, I'd know they were following me so I'd stay the speed limit, not swerve, not mess around, ride perfect, and once they'd get bored and realize I wasn't going to do anything stupid they'd just pull me over and say they had a hard time seeing my license plate, which was perfectly visible, then they'd flip shit when I'd pull out a camera and start taking pictures of the back of my bike to prove you could see the plate. It's very nice living in the city, as much as some of the stuff going on around here sucks, the cops are busy enough with gun shots and crack heads to worry about me on my motorcycle. I stay off the highway and open roads, stick to the back twisty roads where a motorcycle should be and no one gives me trouble.

I understand wanting to run, but keep in mine you're young, on an uncommon bike, and the worst thing you can do is run around where you live and go straight home. Last thing you need is the cops seeing where you live. It's one thing to be on a random back road, make a few quick turns and be gone but when your neighbors see you flying home and start seeing cops cruising around the neighborhood it'll only be down hill from there. Any time anyone on a motorcycle does anything around your house you can expect them to knock on your door just to see where you were, and you'll definitely start getting followed home from work on a regular basis.

just had court today for "careless driving" which i was accused guilt of, but the worse part was that the cop chuckled ......

That’s why they call it the department of revenue! Otherwise it would be the department of justice or the department of safety. Come to Pueblo CO, most the Cops here ride and will leave you alone. I don’t even have a plate mounted on mine.

man ty, if your going to run you better hope your in traffic or in the back canons. other then that your a bust. like this dude

i was speeding but not doing the same speed as my friend. gave both tickets for same speed when i was goin slower. and it really doesnt matter because they have no proof tht i was. wasnt doing same speed as him and she gave me ticket based on pacing him saying i was a bike length back. which her video proved otherwise. just highly disappointed in court system. judge totally biased and the video alone showing she was wrong about distance and therefore my speed is reasonable doubt which is supposed to mean im innocent.

honestly if her video shows her notes about the traffic stop were innaccurate it should have gotten tossed

Wow... thats messed up

Sorry, but if you were speeding just pay the fine and get over it. You did technically commit the crime, you even admitted it. Maybe you weren't going the same speed, but the cop has to make a split second decision and that is what they did. I know this isn't a popular opinion but at the end of the day the cop was doing their job and you were committing an offense.
