I haven't ever wrecked yet but wear helmet/mesh armored jacket/gloves at all times (2 friends dead thanks to no helmet)...LeFox, thanks for the heads-up on jeans not doing sh*, I'll look into some Kevlar for my ass! Firechicken, where in OK? I'm in Norman for the time being.

This has prompted me to look for a set of leather pants to go along with the leather jacket and riding boots I just picked up. Glad to see your doing ok.

And of course, now that I'm not inebriated and think to look at the dates on the thread I realize it's 7 months old...

Here in WI you see as many deer as people. There are times where I'll be riding/driving and see as many as 20-30 deer just hanging around the main highways, they aren't scared of the noise anymore= very dangerous.

Glad you are ok. most of us who wear gear all the time have had previous injuries, and the scars remind us to grab that jacket on a 110+ degree day.

I wrecked my first bike at 16, like a ******* I was wearing shorts, a t-shirt and no gloves (had a helmet thank god.) It took over an hour to change my bandages every day. I couldnt do a damn thing either.

A truck changed lanes without looking about 2 years ago and smacked right into me, I was wearing full gear and just ended up with some big ass bruises on my thigh and a sore shoulder. so Glad I wore all my stuff, and will always wear all of my stuff.

I ran over a snake this past weekend (not that it compares to hitting a deer!). He was either taking his good old time to cross the road or was "sunning" either way, at 60mph - I did not see him until the last minute. ...would assume he got squished.
