Hey all, I have been kicking around the idea of making some goodies for our bikes in my spare time.

I have a seat of solidworks so all parts can be designed in 3d and cut on a CNC. I also have access to composites.

My intention is not to make any money from this, just to possibly get more parts available to us.

some part ideas so far...
axle sliders
brembo caliper bracket

Sounds awesome, I wish I had the time and the resources. I would like to see a front pulley cover that doesn't cost 200 plus! Good luck, can't wait to see the prototypes. [up]

Rotor - More than likely a hardened steel. It is probably water jetted and definitely not worth $400.

Keep in mind, the more advanced the part, I will need drawings, or the actual part to get CMM'd. The CMM is not at my shop so I have to go to another shop and they whack me $60/hr to use it...heh.

A pulley cover would probably be fairly easy as well.

Gonna bang out a few hidden brembo brackets and axle sliders to start. All will be andized black.

I will keep you all posted.

For the love of god I would love it if you could make this plate mount or even CAD it so I could send the design off somewhere in the country to have it made. I'm in Orlando and I can't find anyone to make it here. I've been trying to find it for 2 1/2 years and trying to have it made somewhere, anywhere for a year with no luck. I can send larger pics if you need the or draw you a picture of the clamp at the bottom if needed. Any help would be a blessing, let me know!

I'd be down for the L.P. Bracket. I've also allways had a vision of lightning bolt foot pegs

I like to see primary inspection covers with maybe a buell logo on it. How about rearsets?

Also, someone needs to make an extended storage tray for under the firebolts seat... I think I'm going to post a new thread to request that. (might be a fiberglass thing.

The rear caliper bracket is a really precisely dimensioned piece. It has to be correct radially to position the caliper, and is relieved on the inboard side to clear the rotor bolts. Not tough once you've got the dimensions, but the downside of getting it wrong ain't good. But, they should sell really well.

7075 rearsets

6061 Heelguards

Axle sliders with UHMWPE caps

Camera mounts (for ContourHD camera and RAM mounts - I have a broken cam I can send for mock-up)

oooo.... billet gauge face if possible...

Hey juice, did you say you have a solidworks model of a buell? Ive been trying to get my hands on one. Where did you get it from? are you willing to share it? I could help design parts as well. I have made some in the past, but don't have regular access to machines anymore so don't worry about competition or anything. :)
Great thread.

Hey juicehead, just a thought what about a xb stock muffler SS or alum. end cap like drummer uses for us diy types! just thinkin

i like to see a taillight made like this one with led's, for or xb's. with dual action turn signal's combo brake light.
one that is a direct fit replacement where the old tail light is would be awesome.
