Custom See-Thru Timing Covers! Interest?

Just a suggestion - for product improvement even before you go into production - you may want to specify Laxan, VIVAK or Polycarbonate for the advantage of being crack resistant and unbreakable vs. the use of acrylic (Plexiglas).

You going to do different logo options too?

For now the only logo that will be available is the one shown. Maybe later I will expand the logo but I think thats where pokie got in trouble last time.

Thanks Vtech, we have that under control and are using a material that will hold up. Already been modeled, stress tested and was ensured by the supplier it would hold up.

Look what I got in the mail today! The first prototype for mock up.

I'll post more pics tomorrow. We are starting to get prices together and should have everything ready to go in about three weeks hopefully.

Argh! Totally meant to e-mail you back. Sorry I blanked. I'm buried with work these days.

Did you find a place to do the cutting for you?

No worries Octo, all good. Yes we found someone. [up]

Firefighter they are offset under the cover u are looking at. The rivets are parallel to the ground. Those will be drilled and then this cover will be installed using the timing pegs. You'll see soon. We plan on doing a small install video.

Netty I am always up for suggestions. We just don't plan on changing much at this point. Maybe after we get going we might think of building some different designs. I am just trying to keep it simple right now.

Keep in mind this is just a PROTOTYPE, it's the right thickness of material and made for mock up only. The ring will be black and so will the keychain. Center piece will be made of the translucent materials.

Support ring, it will be black in the production model.

Support ring and timing cover together.

The bonus that was a after thought. Keychain will be in black for production.

Thoughts, ideas, questions?

Looks great! Can't wait for both!

Just a thought.

Polkies mounting ring is not an acrylic material. I think it was a plastic / rubber mix or whatever but I feel using the acrylic ring would crack easily at the bolt holes if barely overtightend.

Its looks like acrylic. If you look at the bottom bolt hole and to the right you can see the laser marks where it was cut out. Their are several types of acrylic materials. The one we have chosen is not ur average run of the mill art store acrylic.

I'm excited. Don't want to rush perfection haha but I'm dying to see the final figure and when we all get to admire it on our own bikes. :)

so do we keep the interest going?

Yes keep the interest coming please. It will help if u put the color u are interested in next to Ur screen name. Clear is probably going to be the first run on these but the colors will follow shortly after. You will receive a pm once these are ready to go. Price is looking like it's going to be around $40 shipped in the lower 48. Also if you paid and didn't receive urs from pokiejoe we are going to try and work something out to restore the buellxb name for see-thru timing covers.

I got the prototype installed on my bike lastnight (I'll post pics later). We are going to have to do some changes in thickness of material to make me happy and then we will be ready to go. So stay tuned and keep the interest list going. If ur on the list u will be first in line to receive one. Orders will be filled after the people on the list are taken care of.
