good point shifty and I wish I was a little more engine savy to a make an appropriate response to your statement but unfortunately I dont exactly know too much about displacement and how it can be an advantage over the 4 cylinders. It's Something I always wondered about and if someone could explain that to me I would really appreciate it. thanks [up]

Handicap racing always has an element of doubt. Need to give them credit for setting up a class, though. It's a start. These are nearly stock bikes with 120hp rear wheel, which doesn't match up with much other than the 600s. The RR might be competitive with the bigger stuff.

Get'em racing and then figure out the best matchups next year. It might be good to do a one design class, if you could get enough going.

Here's a result posting of an AMA race. Look thru the bikes and the lap times. The 1125R is holding its own (and beating) GSXR-1000s and hanging in there with Ducati 1098s.

Whatever the reasons for the 1125R to be racing against 600s or for racing a bike that is not readily avialable for us mortals, it's pretty exciting to see Buell get in the mix. What's exciting to me is that this is just the start. Besides, the 600s aren't that far behind the liter bikes in most race lap times. Go Buell Racing.

I fell as though Buell might as well shoot for competition with the Liter bikes... I feel like they have the capability to do so, especially if Duc can do it

Danny Eslick is racing AMA Daytona Sportbike vs mostly 600's....and kicking some ass!

Shawn Higbee and Walt Sipp are racing American Superbike vs liter bikes and doing OK.

Considering that the R1s, GSX-Rs, Ducs, CBRRs and so on have been in this game for a very long time and the Buell 1125R is new, I think we can look forward to Buell improving a lot.

Hey, to me it's exciting to see Buell getting competitive.

I think it's about friggin time! Eric Buell's first bike was meant to be a competitive bike in the formula class, but as soon as he finished it, they canceled the class. After that giant waste of time, it took a long time to catch up and it took Harley to bail him out. They pushed design features on him that he didn't want and it took 25 years to get to place where he was able to make the bike he always wanted to make. So.... Buell is 25 years behind it's ideal schedule, at least it's finally working out.

TommyJ I have a friend who lives in Berlin, about a mile off of rt 73, may be a dumb questions but have you been to Atco race track near there? I wonder if they allow bikes there.

I live right off 73 across from the super wawa. I have been to Atco Raceway. They do allow bikes on Tuesdays and Fridays. Only requirement is that you gear up, which most do anyway. Does your friend have a 2004 12s?

oooh ok I know where that is. No my friend is a female who is terrified of motorcycles lol. I have of my father and I who rides an 04 firebolt but I believe he just gave it to his son and bought the 1125CR... he has a race license and races somewhere in the pochonos, I would love to get some track time in. [cool]

lol oooooh thanks, lol I didnt know that, not sure if I could get into drag. That will kill my engine faster than just racing arund a track I believe [confused]

I'm a x Ocean City guy that moved to Oahu Hawaii in 93.NOW the have a superbike track 40 min away. All you tri state Buellers take advantage of that track. They must have some kind of race school there. The only track here closed a couple years ago and now it's all street and circle the island rides. One week all lefts next week all rights. We get those races on Speed and they are great!!! GO BUELL .....

Just found out that Millville has a seperate track that is open for other riders to practice on [up] Got to see the Buell Racers and their bikes.... The Buell 1125R sounded AMAZING on the track. I cannot get the sound out of my head.
