has anyone ever used the daytona fuel injector controller? i saw that it was used on the write up that motorcyclist did on the buell xb12. the write up said that they swapped out the 12 pistons for the 9 to bump the compression to 11.0:1 (witch i thought it was the other way around). but they used the controller and i went the their web site (www.daytona-twintec.com and saw it in their catalog. just wondering if anyone has used this and if so what did they think?
thanks
tim
ps- i have the write up on PDF but dont know how to post it. if someone can help me let me know and i will post it up.

The Add on controlers do work,Somewhat not the way you might think.Personally I myself do not like them. Now there will still be problems like adjusting for highway fuel efficent riding and then there's city riding.Plus your Plugs will need to be changed more frequently.
There is a Very fine line and it is at times hard to tune just right. Especially on the Fly. Thats a Horrible way to go Down. Don't wreck the bike over it.!!So just set it and feel it out till you get the feel of what you are looking for, BE careful you add to much Fuel and the Damage to the Heads and Engine is Expensive.
The Preprogramed ECM-Digital Delphi System is best tuned per each bike, if that is not an option then it is cheap to try the Daytona Twin Tec, just make sure to not hurt the wiring so if you are not satisfied with the result you can Revert back to Orignal. If your just looking to add a little more fuel Magnum Tuning.com has a really cheap way to do that. Comes with simple instructions. Most will [disagree] with me on this but I have Actually tried this little ECM fuel tricker and it does fool the ECM into adding more Fuel and yes maybe 6/horsepower. You will still need to keep a couple of Extra plugs around due to the Engine will need more Tuneups and Will Shorten the Life of the Engine over Time. Whatever your choice is good luck and take your time.
Once you add on something like those Add on Packs Reset TPS for best operation of your Bike. Might want to Start with a fresh Set of Spark Plugs so as to be able to guage what the Engine is doing. If you use NGKs don't gap those they are ready to install, if you must check the gap use a wire Gapper. *Jimi

I have one I never used, I sold the bike. Make me an offer. Sorry for hijacking the thread. PM me

i have been using one for about 5 years because i was not computer savvy and didnt know who was.i set mine at recomended values and pretty much left it alone. my 05 xb12 runs strong (not zx10 strong) but....on plug issue out of rather ride than change plugs ive had the same plugs in it for 3years 10000plus miles.that said im sure tuned ecms are superior...i also bumped timiing 3degrees

Do a proper tune with ECMspy. Tuning your ECM will prolong the life of the engine. Instead of being slightly lean due to EPA reasons, the fueling will be spot on.
The reason these don't work is that your ECM will be trying to adjust for the extra fuel being pushed by the piggyback unit. The fuel injection on these bikes can only adjust +-15% or so. THATS IT. Consider your ECM a fancy electronic carb. Add all the stuff you want to it. As soon as you reach the limits of the ECM, you will have no more improvement.
Spend your money at Tuniversity (ad on the right of the page your looking at). You will be able to customize your fuel maps yourself right in your driveway, and it may cost less. You can also adjust your timing maps too, but don't do this unless you KNOW how ignition timing effects the motor. Not knowing is an easy way to an engine rebuild.

Dead Leg: None will work on the Blast. It has a carb on it. Change the exhaust, then change the jetting to get the fuel mixture right. Kind of like "uncorking" a dirt bike.
