Well I just got to the gas station and filled up. I went to fire the bike and it has all the symptoms of a dead battery.

I nice guy jumped it back to life and within a couple minutes it died out.

About a month ago this same thing happened but being the original battery I replaced it after the load tester showed it was dead. I maybe have ridden it 15 times for at least an hour each time. Never had issues starting it or had voltage issues . This leads me to think the stator has finally went. Does anyone seem to think otherwise? My bike has roughly 9800 miles on it with all the routine maintenance done.

Will do I'm stranded at the moment with no light and a low cell battery so I'm waiting for a tow to show up when I get it home ill check that first.

I appreciate your fast reply

get it home and do the following:
fully charge battery with quality charger.....NOT a tender.
have it load tested for strength. any parts joint will do it for free. must be fully charged
reinstall and start bike. take a digital voltmeter and check across battery terminals with bike running. you should have approx. 13.2-14.8 DC volts at 2500rpm. if initially you do not then gently rev the motor a few times and recheck same.
if volt reading low check condition of cables and attachment points for integrity then test again.
if volt reading still low remove front pulley cover and check the #77 connector. it is large plug behind the cover and against the engine case. tons of postings on here regarding same. it must be clean, corrosion-free and tight when connected together.
if volt reading still low then test stator and VR.

Thanks I have a load tester at work I can use . I will do that I have a snap on battery charger at my house so I'll charge it up on that and do all my diagnostics Sunday.
