So, I opened up the box on a new header that the dealership ordered for me just to make sure that everything was ok before I sent it to jet-hot for coating. I was looking at the nice clean new unstained header then noticed...wtf? there is a front o2 bung hole (lol). At first I was ready to return it cause I have a 09 XB and not a 2010. Will this benefit me in anyway for later tuning or should I return it for a 09 model? I could just plug it but worry that it will hit my right side scoop.

i have a 2010 xb12r with the uly right side scoop and it does not hit the o2 sensor. I had to get a little creative with routine the cable through the scoop however but it was no problem really.

Why did you spend a bunch of money on a new header when jet-hot does all the pre-coating cleaning for you? They coat the inside and outside...stains wouldn't matter...

Oh, I didn't pay for it, it was a gift for the one on mine they scratched

I'd vote the same. I'd kill for one of those headers, it's the only way to get a perfect tune. They sell caps for the bung when it's not in use, too. So, no reason not to have it.

Well, actually it depends where the bung is. The headers on the bike are part of the look, an ugly bung could ruin the look. Doubt it though.

i would return it and get one that uses only one O2 sensor, since that's all your ECM can handle. You can get that one jet-hot coated for installation once your bike is tuned. Then, buy a cheap, used header (should be around 150-200, tops), and get two bungs welded in about 6 inches above the collector. Use that to tune, then turn around and sell it for what you bought it for. There's no reason to have two O2's on your bike once it's tuned.

That makes sense, especially since your versed on tuning.
