in the past month i have made it a point to visit four or five dealers in my surrounding area and am very upset over the lack of love for the buell. i need to have my 10k service done this winter but dont feel comfortable enough with any dealers to let them work on my bike. why is there not any stand alone buell only dealerships?? im not nocking HD but damn, if i had went to one of these dealers to look at a buell instead of researching on the net i might not have ended up with one at all. there is absolutely no interest or push to sell these wonderful machines there. i dont get it, anyone else have an opinion on this??[confused]

I found a great dealership in Salinas Ca. It took me a while to find a good one. Don't talk to the guys on the showroom floor, they all suck. The trick is to see if any of the techs ride a buell. If they ride it, chances are they know how to service it well.

I have experienced the lack of love first hand.

I went to a dealership in Fremont, CA and they said they could get me a '09 black XB12Ss. $1000 down and over a month later, i was still no closer to my b1k3. They even tried to push me the blue one they got in.

long story short, I took my business to Salinas, the one dave_xb12r mentioned, and Within a week, i was riding!!!

I feel your pain on this one

I have the same issues it is as if I need to coach the HD mech. Through the bike it is damn frustrating.

i feel yor pain. I recently went to one of the biggest hd dealerships in the US in Las Vegas. Upon walking up I saw a huge buell sign outside the building. I got really excited. When i got inside though it was another story. They had 4 1125r's 1 ulysses 1 lightning 1 firebolt and 1 1125cr. only had 2 shirts 2 hats that's about it. Nobody even came over while i was looking at them. What the hell i love my firebolt. Sorry about the length but i've been meaning to post this topic myself.

the lack of add ons and clothes is also another sore point with me. you can get anything you want with the HD emblem on it. you know they are making hella money off that stuff. i guess it does say something for how addicting the bikes are and how loyal we are if we keep buying the bikes when everyone who sells and supports them has this piss poor attitude about. i wonder if it is ignorance or something to do with the commission part of it for the sells people to ignore them so badly???

On Buell gear, I advise getting the parts accessories catalog and screw the dealership. It has all the new gear in it and you can order right out of the catalog so no going back to the dealer. as for "certified harley" dealers/techs, i just took my bike to my old service guys that used to service my yamaha, and they JUST started working on buells. And man, its like going back to your home city after years of being away. Its like "Wow this is what a competent tech, and actual customer service is supposed to be like" They said they'll work with me on parts catalogs, service, basically everything. And if you read the fine print in you factory warranty, you DO NOT have to have your shedualed services done by an authorized "Harley Tech" as long as it was done in the corect way and you keep all records of your service. Shit, if you were technically minded enough and had the right tools you could do all your own service and stay under warranty. I will NEVER take my bike back to the stealership. If your ever in the Central Washington State area and need a good shop I HIGHLY reccommend Cashmere Repair. Reliable, Honest guys and they work on everything from bikes to sleds.

thats good info to have. i am going to check with a couple of local shops to see if they could do the work instead. its not a warrenty issue for me i just dont want to trust anybody to work on my bike. same goes for my truck for that matter. if worse comes to worse i wil buy the tools and do it myself instead of paying somebody. where can i get a parts accessories catalog???

where can i get a parts accessories catalog???
I got mine from parts section of the HD Stealership. they gave it to me for free. Also im guessing you could prolly get Buell to send it to you through Buell.com Its the september 2008 issue. Part# 99570-09BU
