thanks for all the advice fellers. i really appreciate the input. ill just do what ive been doing but slow down a little, i just wondered if there was anything else i could do. the missle launcher is awesome, but dressing like courtney cox scares everybody including myself

yea slowing down is all you can really do. deer sure seem to love that time in the evening when the sun is setting. ive only come across a deer at night once or twice, in the evening i see them all the time.

The idea behind the Deer Whistles or Chasers is they grab the deers attention and it looks at you.
So at night with your headlights on you see the reflection in their eyes, much easier to see then dark fur in the middle of the night.
I've had them on every car and bike I've ever owned.
For what $2-3 I think they are worth it, and they have saved me a few times.
They do NOT stop the leaping deer though.
So when you see one its still a judgement call, stop or go.
For me all depends on what I can see.
If its and open field and I see if there are more around, where are they looking/headed?
If its a wooded area, who knows, best of luck to ya.

kinda where i was leaning, just wasnt sure. i think ill get em just to see what effect it has. ill report back when something occurs

When I know theyre around (in Sarasota, FL) I just ride with my legs out while screaming barbarically. lol. Only kidding.

Just yesterday someone stopped while heading in the opposide direction and flashed their lights to warn me they were coming. [up]

I have some hyper whites, but not HID, was in the plans tho. are they expensive? i was also thinking about additional lighting like fog lights or something before. wonder if theres a thread on that already
