Did Breather RE-Route now have PROBLEMS

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

Ran fine today on the way to work, did the re-route, and somehow fouled the plug without the engine running between then? I dont know. But I'm all out of ideas. I guess this is what I get for trying to help a friend out. lol. This isn't even my bike, I was doing this for a friend. He has my bike right now, and just got home from a ride...

Everything is back to stock. Gonna try it and see what she does. Wish me luck. Ground is good.

pull the plugs and check them it only takes 15 min turning the key on and off enough times will foul the plugs.the code you have wont cause this i would check it again. mine flashes each code 3 times and then goes to the next one ending with a 6 flash exit.running the hose you may have knocked something loose or pinched something.try the tps again.
'08+ TPS Reset Procedure:

- Turn on the key.

- Set the kill switch to the run position.

- Don’t start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently forced closed) to fully open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently forced closed).

- Repeat 3 times. Hold each position (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second.

- Turn the key off and on.

Tried the TPS reset and still no avail. The wife is about to be here, and I'll revisit this problem on monday when I get back to work. I just hope that it won't cost too much to fix. It's not my bike, it's a friends that I was servicing for him. Thanks for all the help guys.[sad]

Do you guys think this could be some how caused by a bad or weak battery. The owner told me his battery went dead about 6 months ago and wouldn't take a charge except from a battery tender. He has had problems starting the bike sence (slow luggish start). I have herd that a bad/low voltage battery can mess with some bikes F.I. systems.

it's possible... I've seen crazy things happen with a dead battery. Does it turn over?

Yes will start up but have a rough idel and then shut off. Battery is on trickle charge now and I will check it is the a.m.

Charged battery overnight on Battery Tender, and battery is good, bike starts right up fine just like new. Still has rough idle and will shut down without me giving it throttle. Has some light black smoke when running and smells rich. Check engine light still on and I have done a TPS reset with a freshly charged battery. Would the gate in the muffler have anything to do with this. I have a XB9 and am not familiar with the "muffler gate" on the 12's?

I was having issues with my bike stumbling and hesitating, and eventually it was having trouble idling...I did the breather reroute, cleaned the iat sensor with electrical parts cleaner, and it stumbled for the first 15 minutes of riding and after the bike adjusted it runs perfect now...not sure if this is your problem but I'd try cleaning the iat sensor and riding it a few miles to see if it helps. Mine was showing trouble code 15 in ecmspy though which indicates the iat sensor... Also definitely could be the battery, may be worth getting it checked, even though it'll charge it could be bad...

I rode the bike just now and it smells really rich and sounds like I am running open headers or something. The exhaust has never been that loud before. The servo motor in the air box is making a noise I have never herd before either upon turning the key on and after powering off the bike. Any thoughts?

I'm saying something probably wore out and is causing a leak, or its even possible that one of the exhaust straps came off while you were riding, I've seen it happen and I've been hit by one

Straps are still in tact, and look in great shape. I think the problem might be the Servo module on top of the air box. It doesn't seem to be operating fully and is only moving about a 1/4" when it does accuate.

Pulled codes again and got a 26, 32, and 63?. 32 is for rear fuel injector. That would explain the rough idle. 26 is clutch/neutral switch. Could this mean that just a clutsh adjustment is needed to fix that code? And I don't know of a code for 63.
