Last weekend I did some work on my XB 12R....

I started out with this.

visabild.php

Did an airbox delete and re-routed the crank vent.

New S-tail with a raise kit, modded the seat.
After I took the pic I fitted the brake resvoir under the seat.

Axlesliders from skate wheels

New bar end mirrors

now ditch those pass pegs!:D

Good looking bike! I did that s swap too, its so much better.

How about some pics of the under seat mounting you did for the reservoir. I did mine under there too, but mine was a PITA. I used a long piece of 16ga aluminum and drilled a hole into both ends and slid the seat bolt through one end and then mounted the reservoir to the other.[up]

Lookin good! Are those skateboard wheels as sliders! If so....sweet idea! Im stoked! How much time and $$$ was spent on the s conversion? I am considering this route.

The velocity stak is necessary on the throttle body, the part that goes down through the frame on the side, however, is not.

The passenger pegs will stay on.... sometimes I do like to bring a girl with me...

Sliders, Yes they are skateboard wheels, a threaded rod som nuts and washers.

The velocity stack is not necessary but I kept it.
It only directs airflow. You could mount a conical air filter directly on the throttle body.

Regarding cost for all this I´m sure you can get it a lot cheaper, used Buell parts are not cheap or easy to find in Sweden...

I will be back with photos of the brake resovoir mount and some other stuff I´ve done. I just need to fix the camera battery.....

I might take the rear pegs off after my vehicle check up... and also put the race can on....

Regarding the mounting of the brake resovoir.

I made an aluminium bracket in an angle so it would sit level. Screwed the resovoir to the bracket and attached the whole thing to the undertray with industrial velcro. Made a hole to re-route the oil line so it would reach the mounting point.

ok it might not be necessary but it improves airflow through the throttle body so its good you kept it. see my little picture below for an idea of what it does. basically without the velocity stack your effective flow area is reduced.

I do understand/know that the stack helps airflow... why else put it there...

But I have seen several builds without the velocity stack and just a filter mounted directly on the manifold.

Just because people do it does not mean that it has good power gains and if it the f.a.s.t. intake you saw it comes with a new stack that goes under the filter. The stack is pretty much essential as far as performance goes. If I remember correctly it was one of Boyle's laws that states that anytime you change the path of air flow by more than 15 degrees without smooth transitions the air actually becomes turbulant upon itself and reducing the ability to move air.

the velocity stack is there for this reason
Bernoulli's principle it's simple physics, and to help smooth and direct airflow better( & noise). I could explain it how I learned it at Spartan,(aviation tech here) but instead here
see the links and the green balloon in video it might explain this better or at least faster easier.

dont forget about the top nipple that completes & helps the velocity stack and direct flow and help with Bernoulli's principle effect on air flow into intake.

The mirrors are Oberon, but since I bought mine I´ve seen copies that look really good on ebay for a fraction of the cost....

I just order white skateboard wheels for sliders! Thanks for the idea! Personally I think the rear pegs look fine on. BFD!
