I got a problem i can't figure out,

Everytime i come to a light, i downshift to 1st gear, then pull the clutch in, and when i go to bump it up to neutral it shifts up into 2nd gear, i shift back to 1st and try again, but to no use. However, if i downshift as im rolling to a stop it will most of the time shift into neutral. I was curious if anyone had this problem. any help greatly appreciated.[confused]

I note that when neutral becomes hard to find I usually have a loose bolt. All that shifting will work it out a bit and when it's a tat crooked, it gets harder and harder to shift, and neutral becomes impossible to find.

When you can't fix it right then and there, you can just blip yer throttle and that usually makes it a bit easier for some reason...

I dont have the same probably but one like it. Sometimes, not always, but occasionally when im going from first to second i hit neutral but my neutral light isnt even on... not sure if something is wrong with it or im just not shifting hard enough occasionally...?

i have the same problem briarsarmor, and it makes me feel dumb when it happens, i roll hard on the throttle in first and go to shift into second and VRRRMMMMM and i feel stupid ha. im not sure if its a mechanical thing or human but im gonna lean more towards mech. :)

LOL, okay good, at least its not just me. I know exactly what youre talking about by feeling stupid! Especially if it happens at a busy light or something, you hear all these RPMs and welp dont go anywhere.

Have you all tried adjusting the clutch behind the primary clutch cover pictured below? It's in the service manuals if you haven't.
