My muffler to frame bold is gone.

My bolt seems to have mysteriously disappeared, must have come loose and fallen out.

Contacted my local Harley dealer to get a new one and they said the part has been discontinued. They said unfortunately they cant do anything to assist my problem.

Bolt part number – AA0518.2CXZB
Locknut part number – DA0500.1CZ

Currently my muffler is only being supported by the 2 straps on the back and the 4 header studs.

Think I may have to just go to my local hardware store and find a steel bolt and nut that will fit.

Also found that I'm leaking primary fluid where my clutch cable comes out, apparently the o-ring seal for this is also discontinued.

Wasn't Harley supposed to honor a 10 year Parts, Services and Warranty agreement?

I'm sure it hasn't been 10 years already has it?

Maybe Harley goes by Dog years...!

try a different HD / BUELL dealer .
if thats doesnt work do a search for the part number on google and ebay, there are lots of HD dealers with websites with online parts look up and order.
if still nothing then call
Buell Customer Service at Harley-Davidson: the numbers are (414) 343-8400 and also (414) 343-4056, maybe they can help you find or figure out where to get it.

or maybe someone here has an extra one they could ship you.

the good news. xb's are completly standard bolts
just a 5/16 x 1.5" allen cap screw and a nylon lock nut will be perfect. avible at every home depot lowes or local hardware across america.

I doubt that just the o-ring is leaking you better have a extra clutch cable.
my bet is the thread is cracked and just waiting to snap off

found a 5/16 18thread x 2.5" for $0.65 so got 2 of them.

they didn't have allen cap version so just have standard hexagon bolt.

was thinking of drilling a hole in the end and putting a ring lock on it.

About two months ago, I stopped by my Harley/Buell dealer to order a couple parts...they were discontinued. When I called Customer Service, after about 20 minutes of "yep...discontinued", we finally discovered that Harley changed many of the part numbers for some reason. Basically, they are not allowing you buy individual parts, but rather making you buy groups of parts. Hence, new part numbers.

In my case, the front shield for my Lightning could no longer be purchased alone, I had to buy the attachment screws, washers, and foam backing with it. Their way of screwing us yet once again.

You may be in the same boat. Give them a call. Just an FYI for anyone looking for parts.

I guess i lucked out towards the end of the season when i had the bolt snapped and i got a temporary replacement bolt from harley and and the buell replacement bolt

Hey DON'T RIDE THAT BIKE!!!!!!!!!! Those headers will crack! Go Ace hardware, you can get a stainless bolt and nylon nut for like two dollars. The shitty mech that worked on my bike, if you want to call that work, didn't tighten it right and it came off. By the time I notice the nut and bolt missing the headers were ruined.

haha, i just got that bolt from my harley dealer about 1-2 months ago and I got mine with no problem. I really want to call BS on your dealer but maybe I'm wrong

called 2 more places cause it was a bitch putting on the bold i got from the general hardware store and they aslo said parts have been discontinued.

Its 10 years in dog years I'm telling you...

My local Harley dealer also said warranty issues or services is no longer applicable.

Do we have someone on here that might have more info on why Harley is not honoring the "10 Year Parts, Services and Warranty Agreement".....?

I ordered one - it was on back order for almost two months. I went to ACE hardware and got a stainless cap screw and nut (like 2 bucks) in the mean time and it is working great.

the Harley part showed up finally - 3x the cost. In fact, I still have it in a bag on my bench.
