I ordered this tail light on Amazon it was under $25 shipped. Wires are marked and it comes with a page on what color wire goes where.

So I removed tail section and oem light housing. Then cut wires and tested for running/brake slipped on butt connectors and removed oem signals. I found a piece of sheet metal lying around my shop and traced the oem taillight and cut it out. Next I drilled out holes to mount the light and run wires. Then I painted it black installed light and plate to oem tail housing after removing original bulb connections. A few more crimps on the butt connectors and put it back together and it works great plug and play no funny wire tricks or adding relays... well a flasher relay is required or it flashes fast but I may try the mod with the oem relay, I kinda like faster more visable. I took it to work this morning and when I looked in the mirrior everything was lit up and then I hit the brake and could see forty feet. I left it on at work and saw the running light in the sun from 50 yards im extemly happy with this mod especially with a grand total of $28.

I'm sorry but that looks terrible...

I just back-flushed soda though my nose.. gasp, choke, snort..

Dusty, shame on you, that wasn't nice.. lol I think it looks, well... fine

Yeah I needed it to work now I'm gonna do some fiber glass this winter when I tear it completely down. I think terrible is a little harsh it does stick out a bit far but it works and It only took a couple hours. I could gut it and put the LEDs in oem lens.

I know. Dusty the asshole is back lol. Yeah terrible was a bit harsh. I would find a way of getting the LED board into the stock housing. Then again I'm kinda partial to the stock housing so....

Personally, I think it looks worse than terrible. I will probably twitch the rest of the evening because I looked at this thread.

I agree, doesn't look great, but not horrible. I also agree fit it inside the stock housing and you have an amazing deal there! I may just try it actually....link to where you bought it???

When I remold the tail to close old signal holes I'm going to recess the light. I almost cracked it open to just use the board.

Ok I'll put them behind stock lens.... Seems to be general concensous. I still have to shave the holes from the signals

cool looks really bright. Can't beat that for $25. If it can fit in the stock lens that'd be awesome. Can you post pics of the signals, how they differentiate? Are they red or yellow?

They should fit in stock lens I measured before ordering and the lenses are the same dimensions. The last pic is of the right signal on they are yellow which was a huge plus.

Ok thanks for all the info man. Good job for sure, thanks for sharing. Sorry I don't like the lens lol, but switch it over and that's a great mod.

Ok so I replaced the lens and it's good but I'm going to attempt to make a mold and pour clear acrylic to make a clear lens.

Notched out lens to pop it with a screwdriver. I trimmed the led reflector and it almost fit right between the screws. A little more trimming and it fits snugly. Secured it and replaced lens.

Yeah just a lil hard to distinguish signal due to red lens probably worse when braking. Clear lens will fix that.
