Some how he over revved the motor. He has not come clean with me about what he actually did. It took him 24hrs to tell me he red lined it. So he says. He is the type of person who doesn't buy a car because he is tired of it or wants something else. He's the guy that gets a new car when the totals one. He over revved his Ulysses and roached that motor as well. He is hard on everything.
I recommend Groves for parts help and some other stuff. I dont know how they do with motor work. I do know there is Buell Tech there that tracks a Firebolt. I would give them a shot and see what they say.
My wifes dad is a engine builder but he lives in New Mexico.
The owners son of Groves HD has a speed shop. I'm going to take the bike there this Saturday to find out what my options are? Below is the link to his shop. If money was not a issue I had considered putting a big bore kit on it but I like the fuel mileage it gets.
I'm near College Park, MD. I work a funky schedule, so I miss out on a lot of weekend rides/meets. But I'm still interested in meeting the folks here as I'm a recent Bueller.
Do any of you guys get together for "maintenance days" or anything like that. I know how to change oil and brake pads, but that's pretty much it. So I was curious to see if any groups got together to share knowledge and expertise on doing other things (e.g. TPS resets, ECM programming, exhaust installs, etc.)
We have never done it before mainly just riding and bs'ing. I would like to do this and help zax out with some stuff on his bike but he keeps standing me up.
Plan a day and I will be there, zax lives up in MD like you and im sure he would be up for it.
CGO, Jessie, I'm about 2hrs away from either of you. After a brief attempt to get together for for a Buell ride in pa, I would be willing to travel down there to ride with you guys.... Lets get together...
Sprk I have a small 1 car garage it gets the job done we can always do the stuff here or I have a friend in Haymarket about 30 mins south of Leesburg he has a nice big 2 car garage.
