Desperate times; desperate measures:

So I'm one of those lucky folk who had the kickstand bolt break in half... Yay. Ordered the replacement, but it seems I lost the stock spring extender along the way. So now I have a kickstand that requires zip ties to stay up. Yay. (Again.) Doing a weekend ride starting Friday AM, so I was hoping beyond hope someone in the DMV area might have one for an 05 Firebolt XB12R that they could give/sell me that I could pick up tomorrow or know where one could be had that can be picked up tomorrow. Any help is appreciated. Shoot me a text at sevenzerothree 6two8 twosix2one if anyone has any ideas. Thanks much.

BUMP....
I am resurecting this thread to see if anyone wants to ride. Brian from Manassas va.
My buell was down for 6 months until a few weeks ago..
Lost oil pressure on the front cyl while riding, bike sounded like it was coming apart! drained oil and pulled off filter with no signs of damage to oiling system...then I pulled the pump and it was clean.
Sounded like a lifter problem perhaps so I let it sit until I could get to it....6 months went by and I decided to charge the battery and add oil to start it up one more time and listen to the noise before I tore it down....

The noise was gone!

I have been riding it ever since.

The only thing I can figure is that I used to do alot of long wheelies on it and perhaps air collected some place that leads to that front cylinder and letting it sit allowed it to work its way out...

Been 200 miles and no signs of issue!

Hello fellow DMV riders!

Anyone in the area interested in coming by to help me fix my 06 XB12? Long story short, it seems to be an electrical (not tuning) issue that causes backfires/shut offs after 25-30 minutes of riding. Here's a link to my original post:

Original Post

Here's a list of what I've tried so far:

Since my last post, I've tried the following:
AFV reset to 100%*
Battery Replaced
Turned 02 sensor off
Replaced 02 sensor
Checked and adjusted timing
Replaced Coil

Thanks everyone.

Take it to either East Coast HD or Whitt's HD. Have them reset the TPS

Just wondering if this was anyone on here but I recently came across another Buell rider on an XB going down RT-522 heading towards Winchester, VA with the license plate "Huligan". If anyone knows who this is let me know because I'm always looking for fellow Buell riders to tear up some mountain roads with.

Sincerely, The blue cyclone.

Hey guys,

Took my 07 XB12Ss to Whitt's HD and they told me they think I need a new ECM! Anyone in the area with and 07 want to let me swap ECMs to make sure before I buy one?

Have a Hawk exhaust - gotta decide whether to buy a stock ecm and tune or go with the "plug and play" ecm from Eric Buell.

Message me @
[email protected]

Thanks!
Julian

Julian you can buy a stock ecm Cheep on ebay or on one of the message board. I have a special ops pipe with a stock ecm and it runs fine. So Whitts said they "think" you need a new ecm? Who did you talk to? Earl at Whitts knows Buells he grew up not far from me. Did Whitts hook the computer to your bike. They can reflash your ECM.

Gater - you could partition your hard drive & install windows 7 or anything older really & run the spy program.

Julian - If they say you need a new ecm then buy a stock one cause there a lot cheaper then buy the cable & download emc spy. You can reset your tps, change any/all of the settings & mess with the tune or change to a new tune, all on your own. You don't need a "race emc" to do that, even if you want a pro to tune/mess with it they can with those three things, ive had a few shops do it & all I had to do is give them a cd with emcspy on it.

Everyone lol - anyone want to set up a group ride in the next few weeks? I have about 10 guys that are interested in about 2 weeks, this weekend Im headed to NJMP, & next week I move to our new house but after that Im good to go!

Sightings this past weekend:

I black 1125CR (riding with a Kawi Z1000) southbound on Rt. 301 in Upper Marlboro. And driving through Canton (Baltimore) there was a black/blue Lightning and a black/red Firebolt.

Yeah that was me coming back down from High Rock heading home. My coworkers Z1000. There are some excellent twisties heading down through SOMD that we take on the way home. SOMD Twisites to Solomons. Long day.

Thanks to Thurmont Elementary School. [up][up] Heavy squal line came through, seek shelter!

Cool,

Thanks JWoody. I just recently moved to Upper Marlboro and was wondering whether there would be a nice twisties in SOMD. I used to live closer to the MoCo riding areas (i.e. Poolesville, Thurmont, etc.) and am familiar with those areas, so I was hoping there would be something closer to southern PGCo. But I guess topography determines all that. ;)

Just put a set of Michelin 2CT & EBC front Pads. Those Michelin 2CT stick & the EBC pads grab better than the Factory ones.
