Do I want a XB12S long or CG?

I'm 5'10" and just bought an 09 Scg. I had an 05 12s before this. I wish I would have gotten the Ss. Don't get me wrong, the Scg fits just fine, but because it is lower, it has less suspension travel and it is a lot harder to wheelie than the 05.

Now I'm off to start a thread to find out what I need to convert it to an Ss.

I think just change the seat out, drop the forks in the clamps and make an adjsutment in the rear shock is all it takes.

I really don't know what adjustment you need to make to the rear shock, but i recall thinking the conversion form S to CG wasn;t too complex, so presumably going the other way works just as well. The biggest (cost) issue may be changing the springs, if neccessary.

I'm 6'0", 32" inseam, 175 lbs. and my '06 Ss fits absolutely perfectly. I can't imagine having a bike fit any better. Stable as a train, corners like a Porsche 962, and gets down to business somewhere north of 75mph (or Warp 1 as I like to call it).

Of course, having a torque band courtesy of a tractor sure helps the grin factor! :D

I'm 5'10", 170 lbs & had decided to buy an 09' Ss. But then I read somewhere that the Ss "offers better ergonomics for taller riders". That gave me second thoughts about which model to buy so I went back to the dealer and was able to flatfoot on the Ss. I also learned that a touring seat would drop the height by about an inch (good to know in case it feels too tall after taking it home).

I picked up the Ss 3 weeks ago, and cant get off of it! After carving 1300 miles of twisty country roads, it fits like an old pair of sneakers. No need for seat mods.

I'm 5'10" and ride a 09 CG and love it, it's perfect comfort wise, my only problem right now is I might a bit heavy at 220lbs with gear and on hard breaking on the less then perfect road of Quebec I bottom the fork.
