B.O.A. Fitness

a little bit aboot us

Located 177kms west of Williams Lake and situated in Chilanko Forks, BC
B.O.A. Fitness is a experience unto itself.

Prepare yourself mentally, physically and spiritually as you are aboot to be challenged on our one of a kind, handbuilt obstacle/confidence course that is spread over 2.5 acres overlooking HourGlass Lake.

The course and services offered can be tailored to recruits fitness levels but we encourage our recruits to 'think outside the box' and embrace our unorthodox training.
The human machine is capable of much more then we think, believe in yourselves..
..we do!

The training is inspired by military bootcamps, Mixed Martial Arts training camps and good old fashioned strength & conditioning utilizing nature and a plethora of 'natural objects'

We have found that interacting with nature while training on the 20+ 'elements' at B.O.A. Fitness while up on the amazing Chilcotin Plateau and its rugged landscape allows our recruits to develope a headspace that is beneficial to ones over all mental and physical well being and nurtures the primal need to overcome and survive that is within us all.

We currently offer 1 and 2 day training packages that encompass 4 hours of varied training experiences thru out each day with lunch being provided for both packages.
Camping is available on our property as well as various accomodations being available around Puntzi Lake located 5 minutes from B.O.A. Fitness.
(Longer training camps are available please feel free to inquire for more details)

Your first wealth is your health, invest wisely

[up] good stuff man!

I don't do much lifting now (last time I did any real lifting was in 8th grade...), however, the last flight I was on I sat next to a girl who went to the SPF Power Lifting Nationals in Tennessee. It was her first event and she took first place in her class. She got a plack, and a battleaxe as a trophy. [up]

Best part was when I asked about her max lift at the competition and she said 396.5 lbs... she tried for 407 but couldn't quite get it. I told her that she was basically lifting my motorcycle.

Nrankin... Sorry about the late reply man...

I'm a 1C171 as an AGR in louisiana... That's a 15Q in the army...

I do miss the simple life of deployments... I was in Qatar in '09... And kirkuk in '10... Was planning on going back to either balad or Kuwait about 3 months after I got back from kirkuk but neither deployment became a reality for me... Wish they had some open now... I'd volunteer in a heartbeat!!....

Negative .. dude look at GKO's Tour of Duty, you can volunteer on there, shows every deployment state side and worldwide, shows length of tour, MOS, rank ECT.

Im fed. tech "small arms repairer" as my day job.. but 11B,11C, 91B

I was in RC West Afghanistan last year .. deff miss deployment life except the getting shot at , blown up and dealing with IED, rocket attack part lol

Couple of the regulars at Albany Strength XXXL Gym lol

Front row, duke jersey. Looks like he ate bobby Hurley and BAM! 24" pythons brother lol

Looks like an audition for the "incredible hulk" series man seriously

I ended up floating around 270 lbs and a gut that resembles a mozza ball haha

That's after roughly 1500 reps of light weight in a 3 hr session. But damn it feels good and I sleep better to.

But 6.5 ft tall takes its toll. Especially on firebolt after 60 miles. Almost takes a workout just to ride anymore it seems lol

yeah thats frankie haha.. prolly one of the most down to earth guys ive met..

like I said I am deff one of the weakest/smallest guys I lift with lol and im right at 475lb dead lift, 350 bench ( after 2 torn rotator cuff the shoulders dont like heavy chest days lol), and a 405lb deep squat

Yeah I'm nowhere close to those guys but I do it for pure pleasure and health reasons. Even after a torn ligament at the elbow from doing reverse tricep curls. Its literally tons of fun and keeps me busy to lol

without a doubt bro... i love it and on a side note its a great STRESS RELEASE!

I was a collegiate pole vaulter and needed something to keep me active and in shape. I started Crossfit in February and have found a new passion. I try I go 3-4 days a week. A lot of what we do at my gym is similar to the workouts I did in college so it feels like home.

Crossfit is pretty good ! Did quite a bit on my tour so I could keep somewhat althetic and not just a ball of muscle that can't run a mile without dying lol

I'm definitely checking into that GKO Tour of duty...

This turned out to be a cool thread!! [up]:)

I'm no pro (read meat head! :p ) but I spend a fair amount of time in the gym and lean towards the heavier weight power movements. My personal best one rep max on the flat bench was 365, 405 dead lift and 395 squat. I try to get to the gym 3-4 times a week but it has been more maintenance lately and nursing a hurt back.

I've done Crossfit too. It WILL kick your ass and is a great way to shred on the quick but I found that it's tough on your joints if you don't take the time to stretch properly

I know one thing that kicked my ass overseas.... Spin class at Al Udeid... I thought it was gonna be a joke...... Hell the **** no... Lol

@ negative ... Spin class is awesome for numerous reasons .. Amazing cardio , low impact , and crazy tight yoga pants and yoga shorts !! OMFG love it

@Crash yoga can deff be pretty intense man .. I've done it a couple times going into it like hell this is gonna be so
Easy , just gonna enjoy the yoga pants everywhere .. Yea there were parts where my body was shaking from some of the moves/position

@dro those are some good numbers bro !

You're right on the money with the perks of a good spin class nrankin...

I haven't tried yoga... And I was gonna try getting into muay thai or krav Maga but the instructor for that left before I even looked into it...

I'm only up to 310 - 320 on the bench machine right now... Nothing compared to yaws at all lolol.... And since I mostly workout alone I don't have anybody to spot me for heavier free weights ... I can't do deadlift or squats again YET as my ankle repairs are still mending also... =/...
