Dodge ram lowering kit!

That's a pretty good deal, would need about a 2" front kit to go with it though to make it sit level. I cut my stock rear springs to get about a 1" rear drop, and my truck sits near level. I actually bought a spare set of springs for ~$20 shipped and used them, so I could retain the stock springs for whatever reason. I was pretty happy with the results. Here's how it sits stock:

A lot of other changes there too....but you get the idea. Just realized I don't have a dead on side shot of the after.

And before I get bashed for cutting springs, I know it's not the proper way, and know what I'm doing. The extra set I bought are RT springs(progressive) and have nearly flat coils at the top, so after cutting them they still sit nearly flat in the spring perch. So it is safe. And I didn't get them hot with a torch or anything like that.

Thanks, really cool of you to post this, I'll post this on the ram forum, it is a good deal...

Juist wondering... not trying to step on toes here, but what draws people to lower their trucks [confused]? is it just a personal style choice? or is there some kind of performance feature I am overlooking. For me, trucks are supposed to be big, and tank-like... I guess I just dont see the appeal.

I agree, I like both and depends on the use. I mainly lowered the rear of mine because I think it looks better to sit level. I hated the factory rake it had. I thought about leveling the front with a block but it is more expensive, makes the truck handle worse, decreases mpg, and causes increased suspension parts wear. So I decided that since I have a 2wd truck that is on pavement 90% of the time, and I'm cheap, I'd lower the rear to level it out for nearly free. It also makes the bike easier to load. Believe it or not that 1" makes a big difference(that's what she said). Theoretically it should handle better too, but 1" is minor, I may have noticed a slight difference but it's likely just in my head haha.

Believe it or not there are guys with single cab short bed 4th gen rams that are barely modified and handle like camaros and mustangs, and are as fast too. There's a guy on the forum with a lowered 4x4 that runs mid 12s with his and he basically only has intake/exhaust/tune (and slicks).

I can see liking huge trucks, but also lowered. The worst thing about lifting is mpg goes to hell. I get about 16city/21hwy with my truck as shown above. Was better with stock wheels/tires as they were significantly lighter.

Thanks for the compliment oh9! I love the truck. Some more to do but I love it and love working on it.

I like lowered trucks just as much as lifted trucks. If its 2wd lower it. If its 4wd lift it.
If it isnt mine it doesnt matter. But for the record I 100% agree with the quote.

The pictured lowered truck looks badass

xtreme, you can get a 2/4 kit that looks really nice, without screwing up suspension geometry. any lower than that and you need an adjustable panhard bar, etc and it starts getting expensive.

You can also buy 2" rear drop springs(or cut springs like I did).

I'm glad I went the route I did, I have bottomed my truck out a couple times so am glad it's not lower than it is. although it looks amazing IMO lol.

I think you are talking about mine, thanks lesley!

I really like the express models(like xtreme's). One of these days I'll get those matching bumpers...

Thanks! I've never gotten so many compliments on my truck before.....gonna make me blush lol
